    The Talk

     

    They ended up in the couch with Tina sitting in between Bette’s legs, she was leaning into Bette’s chest, Bette was playing with Tina’s hand.

    “Tina?” Bette said

    “Mmm” Tina responded as she let out a huge laugh, in response to the movie.

    “Tina, I want to date you” Bette said still holding on to Tina’s hand.

    Tina shifted so she was able to look Bette in the eyes.

    “You want to date?” Tina asked

    “Look, I know your busy with your work and I’m busy with my work and… I, I god, I’m not really good at this..”Bette stammered

    “Ihavethesesfeelingforyouicantexplain” Bette nervously said

    Tina smiled

    “Well Ms. Porter I have these feelings for you I cant explain either” Tina was now playing with Bette’s hand

    “Tina, I never REALLY dated, I never felt the need let alone the desire, I’m sure talking with Alice you know about my reputation”

    “Bette, I didn’t need Alice to tell me about the Bette Porter reputation I’ve been out to a couple of the hot spots, you’re a legend” Tina Chuckled

    “Oh, god” Bette said rolling her eyes

    “Tina, I don’t want you to get the wrong impression here, I’m being honest with you I really want to date you and see where this goes, right now I can’t picture not having you in my life, in any capacity”

    Tina was silent.

    Bette was nervous ‘did Tina want something more?’ Bette asked herself

     

    “Tina I know how I treated you, but I was scared, that first night we spent together I was so scared, I have to admit I was a little upset, and I know I should, WE should have talked, I admit I ran away it was easier for me to ignore the feelings I was having then to talk to you about them I realize how it must have made you feel and for that I apologize”

    “I was so hurt Bette, I wasn’t expecting anything from you but then you left for a week and you return from New York with Catherine it just, it just threw me I felt ashamed”

    “Ashamed?” Bette asked “Why?”

    “Well fir starters I was a little drunk, and then I begged you to take me to your place then I practically beg you to have sex with me, then you find out I was a virgin, then I knew how disappointed you were god you went to the couch you left me alone in your bed, I was so ashamed” Tina looked down
