“Oh, I don’t know guys I don’t really go out much, plus I don’t have anything to wear.” Tina said nervously

“Come on Tina you’ve helped us all, this is our way to say Thank You, and besides were gonna miss you” said Shane.

“Yeah, it’s our way of saying don’t forget about the little people when you get all rich and famous, especially don’t forget to invite us to all those fancy movie premier and Hollywood parties.”

“I don’t know guys, uh I don’t know”

“Listen missy were not going to take no for an answer, besides it’s all been setup.  Kits expecting us.” said Alice

“Ok, what time?”Asked Tina “you guys have to pick me up, I don’t have a car yet”

“I heard your getting a fancy Beemer” Alice grinned

“Not until graduation, so right now, I still have to take the bus”

“No problem, we’ll pick you up”

“Hey guys, what do I wear?”

“Don’t worry Tina, I’m going to hook you up” Alice winked

Thursday Night Bette was still in her office looking over the budget.

“Knock, Knock” Shane said

“Hey, Shane I thought I was the only one who worked late, come in”

“I was going over the Ad spread for next month’s issue, I was just on my way out when I saw your light on, thought I’d stop by and say Hi to my friend slash boss”

Bette took a deep breath “I’m trying to finish this budget before my trip to New York I’m meeting Peggy Peabody to discuss the roll out of the new magazine, to which I still don’t have a name for.”

“So, you’re not going to make it to Tina’s party?”

“No, sorry I can’t”

“Can’t, or wont?” asked Shane asked with a raised brow

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Shane”

“Bette, how long have I known you for?”

“Apparently too long” Bette said with a laugh

“Well, I seem to get the same uncomfortable vibe, from Tina whenever I bring up your name, so I’m guessing something is up with you guys” Shane sat down ”I thought you liked her, I know she really admires you”

Bette got up and walked to the window

“Shane, I’m having these, I don’t know feelings for her, Its confusing to me I don’t know what they are.” Bette paused for a second then turned and looked at Shane

“I Kissed her Shane, I don’t know how it happened it was the day after her meeting with Helena Peabody, she was just so happy and excited, she gave me a hug, and I just kissed her, it wasn’t you know one of those passionate kisses, It was you know a kiss.  It opened something in me, and I can’t explain it” she turned and looked out the window again

 “I don’t know what I’m feeling all I know is since she has started working here I can’t get her out of my mind, I feel protective of her, then after the kiss I found myself attracted to her I see her differently now, and, I’m sad, sad to see her leave and go on with her life, I’m sad I’m not going to be a part of it.”

Bette sat down and looked at Shane “Does it make sense to you? Tell me I’m crazy, Shane”

“No, Bette no, you’re not crazy, Tina has away about her you can’t help but like her, I feel the same way I feel very protective over her almost like she was my little sister. As far as your other feelings I don’t know that’s something you’re going have to figure out on your own.”

“So, will we see you at the Planet on Saturday?”

“We’ll see I have to finish this report before my trip, I’ll think about it”

“Ok, then don’t work too hard”

“Bye, Shane and Thanks,”
