    Chapter Four

    Shopping for the ASP

    A soft, melodic rhythm gradually grew more pronounced near Tina’s ear.  She reached over and slapped the top of her alarm clock, to dismiss the mood altering noise.  How could it be time to get up?  Tina groaned and buried her face into the pillow.  She definitely needed to put a stop to those lesbian DVD marathons into the wee hours of the morning.

    A week had passed since she had cleaned out her Shaolin office.  Customary morning runs along the coastline near her beach home were boosting her mood and maintaining a positive outlook.  Tina was slowly beginning to feel her energy level returning as she recuperated from the frenetic pace of the three preceding weeks. 

    Oh…and she had been shopping as well. 

    In her efforts to avoid attracting unwanted alpha attention, Tina had found her ideal librarian wardrobe at a place called Kohl’s.  Of course, she had to drive out to the ‘burbs to locate a store — but what a delight!  Who would have thought she could purchase an entire suit for $150?  And one you could machine wash at that!!!  She would save even more money bypassing those weekly visits to the dry cleaners.  Tina had also come across several dresses for less than $60.  Nothing flashy of course.  She had deliberately chosen unflattering colors with kitschy patterns.  The hard part was settling on shoes.  She recalled gasping out loud as she checked the price for a pair, startling several shoppers in her immediate vicinity.  Shoes for $50?  This was insane!  She simply couldn’t resist buying matching handbags at these prices. 

    Tina smiled as she recalled Shane’s reaction to her new wardrobe.  Last Friday evening she had prepared dinner for her friend.  While surreptitiously wanting an update on her Ex and projects at the studio, she had also agreed to provide Shane with her requested “introduction” and a fashion show of her new wardrobe. 

    After a few too many beers, Shane had clapped and hooped and hollered as Tina walked past her in her new alpha-conscious selections; that was after she overcame her initial shock. 

    Tina had pulled her hair back in a severe bun, restricting the soft waves as well as covering the sun’s natural highlights of her beautiful blonde locks.  Her dazzling hazel eyes were hidden behind a pair of clear glass miniature square frames that rested on the bridge of her nose and added years to her appearance.  She had even adjusted her make-up selections to give her a less than glamorous look.  Shane covered her mouth to hide her shock.

    12. always nice to start my day with an update from you. so i guess Helena is the next alpha that needs to be shot down. as much as i tried to imagine what tina was wearing… she still looked hot lol
