Possibly his pancreas creating a much more difficult treatment plan.Look, I know this is a lot to take in right now. I usually don’t tell family members this information alone but it didn’t look like you came here with anyone. Your aunts are flying in from
“Yes, my mother lives here also. II could stay at Dad’s house too. I have a key. But I don’t want to leave him. I want to be here when he wakes up.”
“Just before you saw him, he was in some pain and we gave him something for it. It’s quite strong and usually lasts for 3-4 hours. He should be out for a while. We could call you when he starts to wake up. Typically family members cannot stay in the rooms anyhow and he will need to be evaluated once he wakes up which takes about 30 min. So please, you need to stay healthy for his sake. Go get some rest. I’ll take your cell phone number and call you myself when he wakes up ok?”
Tina wrote down her number and gave it to the Dr. She dialed Eric immediately so that he could come and get her since Carol had disappeared at some point earlier. She slammed her phone shut when instead of ringing his voice mail picked up instead.
“UHHH! I can’t believe he turned his phone off! He knows I’m stuck here with no way to leave. One more black mark! ” she said to herself.
She decided instead of calling her mother to call a taxi and go to her Dad’s house. She really didn’t think she could deal with both her Mom and Eric right now anyhow. She hired a cab and arrived at her father’s house. Within 20 min, she had taken a shower and changed into the pajama’s she always left there in case she stayed the night. She found a blanket and a pillow in the guest room but decided to lay on the couch. She grabbed a picture from the table of she and Larry and fell fast asleep with it in her arms.
