    The Canvas of Our Life….Ch14

    Previously..

Bette sat angry in the car, angry at the turn of events today. Angry that she came to comfort Tina and ended up getting arrested, angry that she was in this car and not with her in the other. It was all a mess and she knew that as upset as she was Tina must be even worse. She closed her eyes and thought of the kiss they shared right before that bafoon showed up. She realized that she had almost told Tina she loved her. Was it meant to be that she was interrupted? She tried over the ringing in her ears to hear her heart. She had followed it every step of the way. But now look where she was…in a police car going to jail. “What next Bette…Thelma and Louise?” she thought. But as the cars entered the parking lot to the station, and parked next to each other. Everything again became crystal clear as she saw Tina’s heartbroken face looking back at her through the window. Suddenly Bette heard it, she heard her heart crying out to her. ”My kismet, my fate.” she felt the calm soothing feeling of contentment.

As Tina’s eyes met with Bette’s she knew, she didn’t need to hear it. She could see it clearly. Bette loved her, she was sure of it. Bette raised her cuffed hand to the fogged up window and wrote backwords as best she could  KISMET.

“I want to speak to my lawyer.” Bette insisted while glaring at Eric.

“You’ll get your phone call Ms. Porter, now I’ll ask you once again to please cooperate.”

Bette stood firm against the officer. Her stance was one of a strong woman who was afraid of no oneand no man.

“Listenyou can either sit downshut upand cooperate. OR we can charge with resisting arrest. YOU CHOOSE.” Replied officer Green.

“I’ll sitI’ll be quietfor nowand I’ll cooperate. But don’t think for a second that this is over.”

Officer Green decided to ignore Bette’s last statement and proceed with his paperwork occasionally stopping to ask her a question.

The main room consisted of two pew like benches back to back in the center of the room facing the main desk where the attending officers were attending the arrestees. Bette noticed Tina sitting in the middle of the front bench with her head in her hands she seemed to be crying. Officer Green led her to the opposite  bench and asked her to “please wait quietly.” She gave him her best foreboding look. Green rolled his eyes as he walked away trying not to set her off again.

    1. Eric the coward is right. He’s probably calling Tina’s mother to help his sorry ass out. He’ll get his due…when he least expects it. It so sweet how Bette is consoling Tina and thinking of her before anyone or anything else. I’m glad Tina finally sees Eric’s true colors. I hope nothing happens to her father before she gets to see him. Thanks for the update.
