    Bette finds a date with Alice’s help…

    «God Bette, why the hell did you do this?», Alice yelled into the phone. «I thought the idea was to get Tina to love you, not tell her you’re no longer available…», she added more softly.

    Bette had her eyes closed and she was rubbing her temple with her right hand. «Fuck Alice, I don’t need a lecture right now… She just… she just gets to me and I don’t know what I’m doing anymore… I’ve never felt like this about any other woman AL», Bette confided. She took a deep breath. «So do you or don’t you know someone who could be my date for a night or two?», Bette asked in desperation.

    «You don’t have to be insulting. Of course I know someone. Let’s see… There’s Barbara, Joan and Bailey who could do this…»

    «Jesus, Alice, just choose one and call me back after you talk to her». Bette hung up and threw the phone on her desk. This was such a bad idea… The last thing she wanted was to meet Tina’s date.

     

     

    «Why did I think Tina would get jealous over my love interest? Doesn’t she have to be attracted to me to get jealous?», Bette said out loud, pacing in her office.

    Suddenly, the phone rang. Bette rushed to answer it. «Hey Bette, it’s me», Alice said.

    «So?». Bette sounded impatient.

    «Barbara said she would do it for a hundred bucks», Alice explained.

    «What ? She wants me to pay her to go out on a date with me ? What is she Alice ? A fucking escort?». Bette was furious.

    «Well, technically, she’s not going out with you… You’re using her and that’ll cost ya…», Alice went on.

    Bette sighed. This was getting worst by the second. «Call her back and tell her I’ll pay for the dinner and nothing else. Got it?»

    «Yeah, sure, but don’t be surprised if she changes her mind», Alice said.

    Before Bette could reply, Alice had already hung up. «Fuck!», Bette yelled, throwing the phone again. Five minutes had passed when Alice finally called again. «Yeah?», Bette answered in a tired tone.

    «She said it’s fine, but expect her to eat for at least a hundred bucks and those were her last words…»

I swear if she embarrasses me in front of Tina, I’ll have you ass for this and I don’t mean in a fun way», Bette warned.” and “The flashing icon told Bette she had a new email. She read Tina’s message and cursed out loud. ” and…«He could easily pass for Bette’s brother» (what’s the chance that would happen?? Bette is in for a steeplechase as she pursues Tina, and I will be laughing all the way! thanks!

    17. heeeh, would that be Barbara Grisham by any chance ? (if so, I guess she is not a senator in this story ;-)) Well, I’m with LC2138 on this double date thing, since Brian looks like Bette and “could be his brother”, maybe him and Barbara could just be “interested in each other” and then just leave them alone ;-)) Anyway, post soon please :-)
