    Bette finds a date with Alice’s help…

    Brian’s face lit up. «That would be wonderful ! Just tell me the date and place and I’ll be there. But in the meantime, I’d like to get to know you better Tina Kennard…»

    The next day, Tina sent another email to Bette. It read:

    Hi Bette,

    I had my first date with Brian last night and it was great. He’s a very interesting guy and guess what ? He admires your work very much and he’d like to meet you. So I guess we’re on for the double date. Get back to me on that soon…

    Later, Tina

    Bette opened her emails and read Tina’s message. «Fuck, fuck, fuck!», she yelled before turning her computer off.

    Bette changed her clothes three times, hoping she would make a good impression on Tina. She finally settled for her white suit and decided to keep her curly hair since Tina liked it that way. At least on men, but you never knew… She had made arrangements with Barbara and had told her she would pick her up at six.

    When her «date», answered the door, Bette was pleasantly surprised to see a tall beautiful redhead. «Hi Bette, come in, I’m almost ready», Barbara said, waving her in. «Wow, you look beautiful… Why don’t we skip the double date and go somewhere where I can be alone with you?», Barbara told her.

    «You are quite stunning yourself, but I’ll pass, thanks», Bette replied, laughing. Alice had told her that Barbara had a very good sense of humour. She put on her high heels and jacket and told Bette she was ready.

    «Do you think your little plan will work?», she asked Bette as she got into her Saab.

    «I hope so… If not, I have no idea what I will try next», Bette honestly said.

    «She must be very special for you to go through all this trouble», Barbara reflected.

    Bette smiled. «She is…», she replied in a soft spoken tone. Then she turned to Barbara. «Do you have your story ready if Tina asks you questions? Remember, she’s a journalist so she’s good at talking to people», Bette warned.

    «Don’t worry, everything will go fine», Barbara reassured her as Bette started the car.

    9. Damn, this is funny! I can’t wait for the next chapter! Let it be soon! …and now for a few of my favorite quotes: “«What ? She wants me to pay her to go out on a date with me ? What is she Alice ? A fucking escort?». Bette was furious.” …and, “«Well, technically, she’s not going out with you… You’re using her and that’ll cost ya…», Alice went on.” Annnnnddd: ” «You’re sure she’s right for this ? I swear if she embarrasses me in front of Tina, I’ll have you ass for this and I don’t mean in a fun way», Bette warned.” and “The flashing icon told Bette she had a new email. She read Tina’s message and cursed out loud. ” and…«He could easily pass for Bette’s brother» (what’s the chance that would happen?? Bette is in for a steeplechase as she pursues Tina, and I will be laughing all the way! thanks!

    17. heeeh, would that be Barbara Grisham by any chance ? (if so, I guess she is not a senator in this story ;-)) Well, I’m with LC2138 on this double date thing, since Brian looks like Bette and “could be his brother”, maybe him and Barbara could just be “interested in each other” and then just leave them alone ;-)) Anyway, post soon please :-)
