Chapter 23
The next day, Tina woke up alone in the bed. She opened her eyes and looked around for Bette. She didn’t see her anywhere. She got up and put on her robe. She walks into the kitchen, where she sees Bette sitting, drinking coffee.
“Hi babe, how long have you been up?” Tina asks she leans down and place a soft kiss on Bette’s lips.
“An hour I think. I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. I watched you for half an hour, then I came out here.” Bette replies and looks up at Tina giving her a little smile.
“You want to talk about it?” Tina asks.
“Talk about what?” Bette asks.
“The reason you can’t sleep.” Tina replies as she takes a seat next to Bette.
“It’s okay. I guess I’m just thinking too much. I’ll be fine.” Bette says.
“I know you’ll be fine, but I still would like to know what’s on your mind about all this. I know I’m being a little pushy about this, but. I think it’s important that you don’t hold anything back. You’re about to leave here. Leave the job you’ve loved, and… You’re going to a new country. It’s home but, you haven’t worked there as much as you have here in Europe.” Tina says and takes a hold of Bette’s hand.
“I know. It will be a progress of change when I get there, and it will be tough, not only to start a new job, but also because you won’t be there.” Bette says.
“I’ll be only a phone call away and I’ll spend my time on my computer.” Tina says and gives her a reassuring smile.
“Same here. It will be hard without you there.” Bette says after a few moments, she’s more serious than before. “4 months, will be too long, I have to come and visit for a long weekend, how about that?” Bette says.
“I would love that.” Tina replies.
“Okay, it’s settled, I have to work that into my contract.” Bette says and smiles as she leans in for a soft kiss. “So, what are we doing today?” Bette asks.
“I don’t know. A movie maybe?” Tina asks.
“Yeah, go out. I’ll take you to dinner, it’s our second last day together. Let’s treat ourselves to a great meal.” Bette suggests. “And a great evening.” She adds and leans in for another kiss.

wow sorry about the packing & cleaning…I understand about HATING IT!!! Hope your studies went well. This was a sad chappy….PPS
I am already feeling down because they will be seperated for 4 months. I can see maybe a couple of weeks but for 4 months that is a life time. Okay the first month Bette setting up her new apartment and then a new job while Tina is studying. Next couple of months busy with work and school and then the last month wishing it was over already.

HEy Lauren, It was such a pleasant surprise to have you back posting this fantastic fan fiction again. I love the simplicity of Bette and Tina’s relationship here. Yes, they have had many obstacles to challenge they and have risen to each one and overcoming them in their stride. The time apart is worrying both gals but I am sure their relationship will survuve as they are committed to spending as much time as possible together. Please continue this pleasurable adventure.
