“Produce delivery,” Lara said. She waved her arm. “What the hell have you done to my kitchen? Done in my kitchen?”
Tina giggled. “Now it ain’t quite your kitchen yet, Chef. I got another few weeks before I turn it over to you.”
Lara shook her head. “You didn’t.”
“I did.”
“Oh my god, Tina,” Lara rolled her eyes. And she pointed to the smeared stainless steel counter in front of her. “Please tell me this isn’t…”
“Yeah, you gonna wanna use some bleach water on that,” Tina snickered.
Lara made a face of disgust.
“Oh and that spatula,” Tina giggled wickedly. “Actually all the rest of ‘em you see on the counter…you gonna wanna soak them too.”
“Oh, ewww!” Lara shriek and she tossed the spatula away from her and wiped her hands on her shirt.
Tina howled with laughter, scooped up Bette’s dress and panties, and went back in her office to find Bette.
“I’m mortified,” Bette whined sitting on the small sofa holding her head. “She’s got to think I’m a tramp.”
“Naw. She don’t think that.” Tina laughed and she sat down next to Bette and began pulling on her motorcycle boots. “Anyway, she knows how I am.”
“Are you telling me you’ve had other women in your kitchen before?” Bette asked.
“Nope. Just you. And only you,” Tina said. She stood up and kissed the top of Bette’s head. “And Lara knows I’m crazy in love with you, so she don’t think you’re a tramp.”
“I’ll never be able to show my face around her again,” Bette groaned.
“Stop. You’re fine. She’s not like that. She likes you and said you’re welcome anytime here at the restaurant while I’m away. Anytime you want a lunch or dinner, you come on down and she’ll take care of you. On the house,” Tina said.
“Yeah, well, why not. I practically became a menu item last night,” Bette said.
At that Tina laughed again and tossed Bette her dress. “Go on, honey, get dressed and go on home and get some rest. I’m gonna get Marcus to the airport and then I’ll be back by to pick you up and we’ll head over to see Frankie. I gotta tell her about what’s up.”
“I guess I’m not the only one that’s going to miss you like crazy,” Bette said pulling on her dress.
“You gonna watch after her while I’m gone, right?” Tina asked.
“Like she was my own,” Bette said. Then she smiled and said, “Like she was our own.”
“Then I know she’ll be in good hands,” Tina said and they hugged for a long moment, standing in each other’s arms, in the aftermath of their love making, thankful to be riding toward the top of that ferris wheel for a little while longer.

Sola gratia. Grace and grace alone will help Bette and Tina to find their way to the life that they will share. Forgiveness to their mothers and to themselves. So simple but so hard to do in life. You have taken us on this journey and we have grown in knowledge from it. Looking forward to the next post and a happy ending for these two kinky souls. Poor Lara, looks like she will be hosing down the whole kitchen. Tina cooked all of her favorite dishes.

The deer! At last! Are we voting here? I vote for either the detective thriller or the historical fantasy story. So another two chapters left.. Always a pleasure to read.
What a fantastic way to start my weekend!
This chapter was a quite a bit lighter, in a lot of ways. The only heaviness I’m left with now is the impending separation and the fact that this story is soon ending.
I’m glad Bette and Helena have talked Tina out of doing anything to Faye Buckley. The woman will get her punishment and hopefully they’ll all start to move on. And Helena to the rescue again, reminding Bette about the photo that James took including Miriam’s portrait and her father as well.
I hope the upcoming interaction with The Planet’s DJ is a bit less filled with jealousy than the last encounter with her all those years ago. ;)

I like the image of the deer, and I like how Bette’s ‘guide’, which has been her silent company during the days of her youth, finally spoke and planted a new seed in her. I can already see her willing to change and think positive by how she talks to Tina, trying to share with her what she learned [a lot] in only one day.
The end was priceless!! I’ve always loved their banter… so looking forward to the scene at the Planet, I know it’s going to be great!
I’m sad this story is going to end, but I’m also happy to know their ‘nightmare’ is almost over, they need the peace they have been seeking for years and years, and together it will be even better. And knowing you’re already thinking about new stories comforts me.

But mostly seeing Tina and Bette on a path of healing and forgiveness, and becoming a loving family is this best part of the chapter and whole story to be exact.
Oh yeah am I the only one who is also sad that Tina is leaving for maybe a year, I swear I think im inside the story too lmfao!

I think I have to tell you how grateful I am to you for sharing this great story with us. It was not only captivating until the first word , but helped guide and see some things that showed us a mirror to “look at yourself and tell me what you see ”
this beautiful and heartbreaking story pointed out that everyone’s life is needed self-healing and self- forgiveness. everyone’s life happening painful things that leave their mark on the soul, and if you does not deal with, the wound will too deep and the recovery will be more difficult and takes longer. and should never be forgotten that we are not alone, because there is always love in our lives : whether it be a friend, family or love. Yes, sometimes life throws us, but we need to be able to see the positive, it’s still there :)

BenMac, you are totally unsurpassed! Your flare for sprinkling humour throughout your drama is incredible. It keeps us engaged and entertained with meaningful analogies leaving us wanting more and more. I for one will be sad to see this story end in only 2 more chapters; I will miss it and these characters in particular as I did when I finished To Kill a Mockingbird.
I will love anything you write, but I would be partial to a story set in ancient Gaul. See you next Saturday!

That was fun! It’s all coming full circle although I’m not looking forward to it ending but it has been a joy reading this fanfic. BenMac, you are such a freak:) I just read another story you wrote….and the stuff happening in this story was kids stuff but I have to say this story is the best fanfic story I have ever read. Cudos!
