    Tina put her arms around Bette’s neck and held on tight for dear life as her body shook uncontrollably releasing the tension she’d held onto for weeks. She didn’t even question what Bette was doing there. It just seemed natural that after running on adrenalin and determination for the past several months when she finally broke down Bette was there to catch her.
    Tina wasn’t even sure why she was crying or what emotions she was feeling at that moment … relief … joy … pain … rage … hate … vindication … It didn’t really matter. The only thing that mattered was that she was safe, protected and loved. Nothing would ever hurt her again.

    Bette and Tina kissed tenderly not caring that they had an audience. They parted just in time to see Jodi being read her rights and escorted out to the police cruiser. Tasha went with Jodi while Joyce and the other officer went to the bedroom to rouse Kelly. Joyce helped Kelly to dress then she was placed under arrest for accessory after the fact. Kelly didn’t put up any resistance and agreed to be taken to a rehab facility where she would be detained until she sobered up.

    Joyce and Tasha took care of the logistics with the police officers. Tina would need to make a statement in the morning, but for now she could go home. Tina took Bette to the house she lived in as Tabitha Wells because the house they now stood in was no longer home. There were hardly any words between them as it wasn’t necessary. Bette knew exactly what Tina needed without being told.
    Bette ran a hot bath and helped Tina into the tub. She bathed her while Tina relaxed and enjoyed the ministrations. When she was done Bette toweled her dry and helped Tina to dress in comfortable sleepwear. Bette too changed before lifting the comforter and lying on the bed with open arms welcoming Tina to join her. She spooned Tina from behind and held her close. Although exhausted the doctor didn’t allow herself to fall asleep until she heard Tina’s steady breathing. Bette wrapped her arms around the beautiful blonde even tighter and kissed her shoulder. Tina instinctively pulled Bette closer and smiled in her sleep.

    2. My God! I’m smiling like a damn fool at 1:05 am and my ass needs to be asleep cause I got to get up at 5 am for work. I was asleep but woke up several times to check for the post. FINALLY it was here and I just finished reading it! Tina gave a performance of a LIFE TIME! Tina Kennard wins the OSCAR for best actress! You go girl! You one bad ass BITCH!     8. It was worth the wait. This chapter was fantastic! I loved that Tina was no longer a victim but victorious. All people should quit being the victim, but turn the tables on the abuser. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I hope there will be more chapters to this story, but it will be hard to beat this last chapter. No matter what, I do wish you the best in your writings and I hope that you are doing it as a career, you do have talents.
