The heart wants what it wants. Chapter 6
George: “Uh…Tina…aren’t you ready yet? We were supposed to leave an hour ago!” she scolded
Tina: “Oh yeah I know im sorry, just give me like five minutes. Chad im so sorry I forgot, we were driving to Anaheim for the weekend”
Chad: “Oh”
George: “Yeah, my brother just moved there and we promised to come see him. We better get a move on were already late”
Chad fell for the story and Tina quickly helped him out of the apartment. Tina then in turn changed her sheets, took a shower and went back to bed. Just when she was about to fall asleep George knocked on the door.
Tina: “Yeah?” she said pulling her head out from under the blanket”
George: “Phone” she replied sticking her head in the door holding out the phone
Tina huffed and reach out for it.
Tina: “Hello?”
Bette: “Sorry I know you were supposed to call me”
Tina: “That’s quite ok. What’s up?”
Bette: “What are your plans this week?”
Tina: “Um I don’t think I have any”
Bette: “Do you want to have dinner on Monday?” she blurted out then held her breath waiting for the reply to a question she knew could mean anything
Tina: “Yeah, yeah that would be great” she didn’t know if it was a date dinner or a friend dinner but she was excited either way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Monday was drawing to a close and so was Bette and Tina’s ‘date’. It went rather smoothly to both of their surprise, neither knew they were both thinking about eachother the same way. Bette was too stubborn to admit her feelings and Tina was scared of Bette walking away again. They were about to go their seperate ways when Bette proposed they take a walk on the beach since Tina still hadn’t been there since she moved to L.A.
Bette: “So what’s the story with that Chad guy?”
Tina: “Oh uh, nothing really. He’s called a few times since Saturday but that’s it. I don’t think im going to go out with him again though.”
Bette: “Oh, why not?” she asked trying to hide a faint smile
Tina: “Eh, it’s just not there, I felt weird the next day”
Bette’s mind jumped. “The next day?” she thought. That could only mean one thing, and that made Bette really uncomfortable for some reason. She didn’t like the thought of Tina with anyone. It was almost as if someone had invaded her space. While Bette was silent, thinking, Tina looked down the beach then out into the ocean. The last sliver of sun was quickly setting on the horizon.
Tina: “It’s absolutly beautiful isn’t it”
Bette snapped out of though when Tina spoke. She looked at the sunset then back at Tina. The wind was lightly blowing through her hair and the reflection of sunlight made her almost irresistable to Bette. She took a deep breath and took a step closer to Tina.
Bette: “I’ve seen greater beauty” she replied then leaned in stopping just before their lips met.
Tina couldn’t stop her desire for Bette and this time she knew she wouldn’t let her walk away. Tina hungerly pressed their lips together and wraped her arms around Bette’s neck.
