“Shit.”  Sam said as she reached into her wallet to pull out a bill and hand it over to Shane.  Harrison was doing the same.  “I really thought there wouldn’t be any PDAs until New York.”  Harrison grumbled good-naturedly.  

“OK.”  Shane said as she pocketed the $200.  “Next bet is for when the marriage proposal comes…”

Dana and Alice spent a bit more time in the main cabin before moving back to the private area.  Dana could tell Alice was tired, but, the other woman didn’t want to take a nap.  It would be late afternoon by the time they landed in New York and Alice felt they could handle the time difference better if they stayed up.  The ended up watching a movie until the plane was ready to land.  

Shane and Sam both came back to the private compartment shortly before the plane started its descent.  Dana had a brief conversation with Sam to verify that security was in place on the ground.  She knew the security team was top-notch, but, she would double-check everything where Alice’s safety was concerned.

Sam confirmed that everything was ready.  The escort to the hotel would meet them at the place where the plane would ultimately park.  The hotel was set up and secure and there were several security personnel on the perimeter of the hotel.  Sam had been in close contact with the New York security team and everything was in place for the various meetings.  The also had a communications center set up which would coordinate all activities.  The primary focus was on Alice, but, Shane and Harrison would also be watched.  Dana would also have her own security if she was ever apart from Alice.  Basically, the only place there would not be security personnel would be in their hotel suite.

The plane landed and the group deplaned.  Both Sam and Dana used their trained eyes to keep a lookout for any problems.  Additionally, Dana kept an arm around Alice’s waist.  She could almost feel the tension in Alice and was very thankful for the advance warning from Shane.  Dana could see that the security forces had things in hand and decided to focus on Alice.  

They were several vehicles waiting.  Alice, Dana and Shane got in the backseat of the first town car and Sam got in the front with the driver.  The rest of the passengers on the plane got into the other vehicles along with the luggage.
 
The trip to the hotel was quiet and uneventful.  Dana held Alice close and Shane spent her time looking out the window.  She actually found herself energized by the city and started to plan an excursion for the evening to maybe hit some clubs.  One look over at Alice confirmed her thoughts that she would be flying solo – well, except for a couple security folks.  Shane knew she would not be able to get away without a security detail on this trip so she made sure to arrange with Sam to get the guards that she could deal with the best.  Sam countered with the names of guards that would not be as easy for Shane to manipulate.  They finally settled on a group of names.  Shane would be relieved when the threat to Alice was exposed so things could go back to normal.
