THE L WING Chapter 149
Narration of President Bette Porter
I look at Shane and CJ for several minutes.
“How close is he?”
“We know the army are sitting on Emily’s file and he is starting to make threats about taking people to court if he doesn’t get the file “CJ explains
“If he gets the file he will know about Tina “
“Yes – its in the file – you’ve seen it “ Shane points out
“I have and if that file gets into his hands he will have freaking explosive piece of knowledge to destroy Tina and I with – its not going to happen Shane “
“I don’t know what we can do “
“Ring the Chief of the Joint Staffs and ask – no – tell him that I do not want Emily’s file ever seeing the light of day. If I have to I will slap the highest secrecy ban on it and no one will be allowed access to it for the next 200 years “
“Not sure if you can do that Madam President “CJ says nervously.
“I am the Commander in Chief – if there is one thing that I know from working with these men and women it us that they take orders from their leader – they may resent me having no military experience but I am their President and so far very few soldiers, sailors or airmen have died on my watch – I am very proud of that fact and after the senseless way so many of their people have died they are not going to risk a warmongering President replacing me. So –Shane – talk to him and explain that I do not want her file coming into the public domain. Tell him she was close to me and this person is going to use her to discredit me. If that fails – I will speak to him”
“He’s due here tomorrow “
“Excellent – Shane?”
“Very good Madam President “
“Can I speak to Shane alone please CJ “
“Certainly – thank you Madam President “
“Thank you CJ “
Left alone Shane and I sit facing each other.
“We talked about this after the assassination attempt “

Smartass. Care to tell us the title of the aforementioned youtube clip, there are sooo many to choose from. Bette better be careful of her tactics. Even presidents, while immune from many kinds of prosecution, can be impeached and might then lose their official protection. There’s also those pesky moral implications that may not be covered by the “I did it for love” defense.

Re: the clip – I hope Bette means it when she speaks of Jenny as dead meat. If we are all real lucky a rampage will ensue and Max will get taken out at the same time.
I wasn’t even paying attention to chapter numbers. lol Don’t worry about it. =) About the letters, I don’t know. A part of me would be curious enough to read them, yet at the same time I’d want to leave it all in the past.
This is all getting very tense hope going to the press works, ohh I have a bad feeling about this, please be kind to us Ally
Well, it’s quite an issue. I don’t really know how I feel about Bette being ready to do everything for Tina, in the fullest meaning of this word. She obviously will consider “getting rid” of him if he finds out something and I’m not sure that ordering to kill somebody (especially when he’s an “honest and trustworthy” man) is considered cool in my book. Plus, even if it comes to that (though I cringe in horror at the thought of that), such things tend to come out to the surface sooner or later anyway. Just like with the Russian government ordering to kill an ex-spy Litvinenko, which made the headlines pretty much everywhere. So, I don’t know what’s worse, being blamed for killing somebody by a pure accident in a difficult situation or killing the man who found out about a person killing somebody by a pure accident in a difficult situation. It’s a two-edged sword no matter how you look at it. Can’t wait to see how you handle it.

Bette should really think before acting this time. Her alpha side can trap her if she does something stupid like ordering to kill people. I don’t think it will be needed, tho. ABout the letters, dunno what to think. The 411 preview- Im with funnyone Jenny = dead meat and Max… well he took lots and lots of screentime last epi that I just fast forwarded… he can leave. We won’t mind it at all. TiBette = Tina should just kiss Bette after that “You would?”. Yep! Move Tina! MOVE!
