THE L WING – Chapter 199
Narration of President Bette Kennard Porter
I know the statistics but nothing has prepared me for today’s date – 8 Sept. Tina is 6 days
overdue. The last six days have not been fun for me – she is fine. Cooking meals and freezing them for after the baby is born. At the moment Tina is being examined by her midwife – I have been ordered out by Pam because I am being “a pain in the arse “.
Trust me to hire a midwife that I cannot boss around – bad planning Bette.
Tina could nest for America at the Olympics – she has cleaned the oven so its looks better than the day it was installed, every bed has been changed at least once. She has rearranged books, clothes and probably the contents of the recycle box in the laundry room. I have a bruise on my ankle from when she rammed the vacuum cleaner into it last night at 11pm. She is sleeping like a log despite her size – I also have bruises from where she has kicked me during the night.
In short – Tina and Ella are great – having fun and mom Bette is battered and a nervous wreck.
I am pacing around the sitting room when Pam comes in from our bedroom
“I was trying to remember who you reminded me of “she says in her soft Scottish accent
“The President of the United States of America, Commander in Chief – the big cheese “I say sarcastically
“Not her – its that old hen in the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons – the spinster one who is always fussing “
“Remind me that I can get you extradited back to Loch Ness “
She laughs
“Bette – you are going to have to be more original than that “
“Sorry for not being horrible enough – and its Madam President “
“Bette – stop it now “ Tina comes out after her “ She will call you Bette because I have told her that she can and she has for the last two months “

Firstly Ally congrats on the nomination justly deserved !!!! Nice chapter as per usual, I do have to agree with everyone here who have commented so far, please no drama ;-) lets just have a nice uncomplicated birth and a happy Bette and Tina, maybe after the birth an during the next 200 chapters you will be writing you can throw in a drama or two. please post real soon

Congratulations yet again, Ally. I was going to suggest that if they had a spicy curry for dinner, the most appropriate film would be Blazing Saddles, but I guess that’s off now. And I’m so pleased to hear there’s a good form of diarrhea. After a nice infusion of caffeine I’m sure Bette will be all relaxed for the delivery. Any reference to Warner Bros. cartoons is welcome, and in that spirit, I say let’s go on with the show.
I knew chapter 200 would bring us to Tina having the Ella. Please do not keep us waiting to long. Great Chapter Thanks Ally

Poor Lucy I know she just wanted to run when she saw Bette at the door. Now don’t take a page out of IC’s book with Ella’s birth. There is plenty of time left in Bette’s term for them to go through it but the birth of thier child is not one of them be gentle.

See maybe Tina just need Bette to get out of her hair for awhile so she could relax. Now time for baby Ella to come into the world, and no drama Ally.

You know I was wondering when you first dropped the name in wich story, Tina came home and found Bette in a very sexyoutifit with Ella Fitzerald playing in the backround.
