    THE L WING – Chapter 206

     

    Narration of President Bette Kennard Porter

     

     

    Tina and I have been having an afternoon nap – Ella kept us both awake for ages at 2am. Normally I get up with her and take her into the nursery and feed and change her then I sit with her until she falls asleep again which is usually pretty quickly. But this morning – she howled from 1am until about 2:30 and man is 90 minutes a long time to listen to a baby scream.

     

    Ella was not a happy baby and decided that she was going to make everyone else suffer because of it. That meant that Tina didn’t get the uninterrupted hours that she normally does. It’s important to me that Tina sleeps from about 11pm until 6am – I am happy to be up in the middle of the night getting to know Ella. I have come to cherish those nightly moments when the house is at peace and no-one else is around. Just me and my daughter – it really is the best feeling in the world. This is true serenity – sitting in silence with the only sound being the contented sounds coming from my two week old daughter who is drinking her mom’s milk and looking at me.

     

     

    Ella is beautiful – hell yes I am biased but she is a stunner and I am so lucky to have this family at a time in my life when I had given up all hope of finding a lover – let alone one who is as wonderful as Tina who has given me a child. Last night aside she is so placid and easy going – she even allowed Lucy to change her diaper the other day. And she has started to make noises of contentment – she gurgles and coo’s which I just think is the sweetest sound in the world.

     

    She can drink for America – trust me if there was a Baby Olympics Ella would be there on top of the podium – little gold medal around her neck for the sheer amount of Tina’s milk that she can shift. She is making progress and we are both delighted.

    8. AllyE you are writing a wonderful story and I love every minute I spend reading it. For a chapter such as thisone, I will go back and read it again. You give a lot of lessons in love, trust, faith and tolerance in your stories. You are doing a great favor for women loving women, actually for anyone willing to give their heart to someone else.
