    The L Wing – chapter 229

    “How’s the ankle ?”

    “Nagging pain “

She picks up the remote and surfs for a few minutes – eventually she finds a film that has only just started and we lie watching that for a few minutes — its obvious she isn’t interested in it because she turns the sound down during the commercial break and looks at me

    “Saw Alice today “

    I look at her

“What’s my number one nuisance up to ?”

“Working on your media schedule for the Dublin summit “

“We are going to have to discuss Dublin at some point “

“I went there when I was living in England – boy did we have one hell of a party. I suggested you are

taken to a pub and bought a pint of Guinness “

    “Never tasted it “

“Full of iron “ she replies and smiles “I love seeing you with the other world leaders – you are so in control and so alpha “

“Its not going to be an easy summit – we have to decide whether we are going as family “

“I think Ella would enjoy it “

“She would also enjoy staying with her granny and grandpa Kennard “

“You and I wouldn’t enjoy being away from her “

“I know – I guess that’s what it boils down to – whether we could cope without our daughter . We could just as easy take granny and grandpa Kennard with us “

Tina pulls a face “ I think my mother’s presence would encourage the British press to dig up the whole business of two years ago and how much she doesn’t like you “

    “That’s all over “

“Nothing is over for the press – they love a bit of corpse digging “

“So because of them we leave Ella at home ?”

“We could take our nannies “

“I would rather we took your mom and dad – past history is just that “

Tina yawns and I put my arm around her and pull her close. She kisses me and rests her hand on my face for a few seconds

“I like this – just the two of us – no boxes of papers for you to be buried in “

    1. HE AllyE, Great to have more tof this fabulous fan fiction to catch up with. I just love how Tina manages to soften Bette’s bite with a few gentle glances and soft words. I really think that Bette needs to sort things out with Melvin. Tina is pushing her towards this and Bette is tredding water. Time to shout up and listen to her father. Shame about the ankle but it did make me laugh thinking of the POTUS falling over like the rest of us, mere mortals. Hysterical. Can’t wait for your next wonderful post. Many, many thansk from Your Loyal Fan.

    2. Another great chapter from this very interesting story AllyE. Tina is the balm that soothes the savage beast Bette. AS for Lucy ever thinking that Bette might have been a drag queen, I don’t see how she could have ever thought such a thing. Lucy must have had very little experience with knowing what a drag queen looks like if she confused Bette as one. Bette is the farthest thing from looking like a drag queen. I don’t remember reading that early on and I must go back and find the comment just to satisfy my mind. One of these days Bette will have to forgive Melvin even if he erred on the side of caution and his love for his daughter. As this scenario progresses I can only see more drama for Bette and Melvin and certainly plenty drama where Shane is concerned. Can not imagine what has sparked her lack of respect for POTUS but, we know Tina will set her straight and of course, Bette will also. Great post AllyE. Post when you can.

    3. Hi Ally, Missed you when you were on your hiatus and admire your taking the time for yourself. Love all your stories and am busy catching up since I was gone for a while myself. Your stories are so great – IC could learn from you that not all drama has to involve cheating, oh well fanfic is the answer.

    4. “I have to master complex briefs in minutes, the travelling is wearing and I just have to keep so much information in my mind.” ?!? The Shrubster doesn’t do any such thing, why should Bette?

    5. Again, I wonder what the hell is wrong with Shane. Loved the POTUS-FLOTUS banter and two thumbs up for your consistency, for referencing bits and pieces mentioned about the characters or the storyline 50 or 100 chapters ago. Lord knows how confusing it is to follow some of the storylines in the show because the basic details about the characters seem to be changing every season. So for your consistency, I applaud you! Thank you, Ally! :>

    6. THERE you are funny, I have been looking all over for you! I have to agree with Shane here. Tina is furious with Shane cos she suggested the president come back to work? Kidding me? Bette has a twisted ankle! Not even broken, just sprained, and she is fine with blowing meetings off? Methinks these people gotta get a grip on a little proportion round there.
