    T’was the night before the wedding and all through the house not a creature was stirring – only the boss

     

     

     

    “You don’t have to explain that to Tina do you ? “

    “No – I never have. I thought the greatest high was having 60 million people voting for me but the first time T told me she was in love with me – can’t explain it “

    I look at Shane

     

     

    “Carmen’s the first woman you’ve fallen in love with right ?”

     

     

    “Well she isn’t the first woman I have fallen for but she is the first one who has loved me back. The others have been me falling and the other woman not knowing “

    I realise that she is talking about me.

     

     

     

    “I’m thinking of asking Carmen to marry me “ Shane tells me with a shy smile

     

    “Shane ! – that would be great “

     

    “It wouldn’t be until after the election – maybe this time next year “

     

     

    “Well you would be welcome to use this place “

     

    “I actually would love to do it at your other place “

     

     

    “Well you know Tina and I would be happy for that as well “

     

     

    “I haven’t asked her yet “

    “When are you thinking of asking her ? “

    “Tomorrow or if I can’t get the courage then at Christmas “

    Shane and I chat for another 30 minutes then I go to the Residence. Tina is sitting chatting to Melvin and Kit when I open the door. Soon Tina is off to spend the night at her old apartment with Lucy and her parents. I smile at the sight – my family just adore Tina and why wouldn’t they – she is just perfection.

    “Hey there “

     

    I greet Kit and my dad with hugs before turning to Tina

     

    “Come here “ I say

     

    She gets up and moves across to me

The wedding is off.” Well she might if she wants to die. =O No, she better be smart enough to tell Tina that Bette is fuckin’ sicker than a dog. My first thought was some asshole poisoned Bette’s chili and then I figured it was her appendix.

    22. Aw, shit. Reminds me of when I begged not to have my birthday party cancelled even though I was becoming feverish and coming down with measles or chicken pox or something. The party went on, I became ill and ran for the bathroom. My fun-loving brother grabbed me, swung me around to ask where I was going. My response was to throw up on his leg. I hope he was satisfied.
