    T’was the night before the wedding and all through the house not a creature was stirring – only the boss

    “Exactly “

    We kiss again and I pull her into a tight hug

    “I need you “

    “I need you to let go of me sweetie “

    “I know “

    We disentangle and I touch her face

     

     

    “You better go “

     

    She nods “Its only a few hours honey “

    “I know that too – see you tomorrow Tina Kennard “

    “See you at the aisle Bette Porter “

     

     

    I watch as she leaves the apartment . As she goes I get a bad pain in my stomach and feel like I am about to throw up. I go back into the apartment and hurry to the bathroom. I throw up for the next five minutes – Kit comes into the bathroom

    “Baby sis – was it the chilli ? “

    “I don’t know “

    “Shall I call the doctor ? “

    “Its just food poisoning or something “

    “Sure ? “

    “Yeah – look you and dad go ahead and have dinner – I just need to rest for a few hours. Work has been crazy and I have a gorgeous woman to make mine tomorrow – I have to be right for that “

    “Okay – here — let me help you “

     

    Kit helps me to undress and get into bed. I feel bad but I am confident that it will pass. I soon fall asleep. When I wake up its because I need to throw up again – I get out of bed and feel my legs starting to go underneath me.

     

     

    I grab the bedside cabinet until I feel that I can walk again. I throw up for a few more minutes before staggering back to bed. The pain in my stomach is worse that ever. I hug a pillow to my stomach and try to drift back to sleep

     

     

     

    The next few hours are awful. I lie alone in pain clutching my stomach which is very tender. Kit comes in once and I pretend to be asleep.

     

     

    What I don’t want is any doctor telling me that I cannot marry the woman I love. Whatever this is will pass and I will be standing waiting to marry Tina Kennard when her dad walks down the aisle and gives her away.

The wedding is off.” Well she might if she wants to die. =O No, she better be smart enough to tell Tina that Bette is fuckin’ sicker than a dog. My first thought was some asshole poisoned Bette’s chili and then I figured it was her appendix.

    7. Man, poor bette…when is she going to catch a break! she just wants to marry her girl! you are clearly the queen of drama! I can’t help thinking of all those people who can in for the wedding! i would guess lots of other gov’t officials! maybe you’re making this a blessing in diguise and the hate groups don’t know the wedding is POSTPONED! (not off!) so they go ahead with their plans…which has bette saving everyone’s live with her health crisis!     8. I think this is a bad dream stemming from when Tina hit Bette upside the head with the pill bottle. The wedding is NOT off…it will happen when Bette awakes from her dream.

    22. Aw, shit. Reminds me of when I begged not to have my birthday party cancelled even though I was becoming feverish and coming down with measles or chicken pox or something. The party went on, I became ill and ran for the bathroom. My fun-loving brother grabbed me, swung me around to ask where I was going. My response was to throw up on his leg. I hope he was satisfied.
