The L Wing – Chapter 19
Narration of Tina Kennard.
Monday Morning
I stir in my half awaken state – vaguely conscious that Bette is awake also. I open my eyes to discover that I am lying totally under the duvet and the first sight I make out is her long, shapely thigh.
I kiss it once and as it tastes so good I repeat the experience several times before I pull myself from under the covers – she is sitting up, surrounded by papers – she is working by the soft light of her bedside lamp.
“Hia babe ” I say
She grin ” I was enjoying that early morning treat “
” I can do WAY better ” I reply leaning in for a long kiss of her lips.
“Did I wake you ?”
“No – how long have you been awake ?”
“50 minutes – I decided to get on with my work – I have been very distracted this weekend for some reason “
“You deserve some fun babe “
She traces a line up and down my cheek.
“How could I be anything other than fabulous. I know I get into trouble for rushing things but I am very serious about us Tina “
“I feel the same – maybe that is why I’m scared “
She collects all her papers and drops them into her briefcase along with her pen. She closes the case and puts it on the floor.
“Come here”
I snuggle against her body and she puts an arm around my shoulder to draw me nearer to her.
“Tell me ” she says very softly kissing my ear.
I rest against her shoulder and immediately feel loved and needed.
“Do you believe in love at first sight ?”
“Yes”
“Have you ever fallen in love the first time you saw someone ?”
“You know the answer to that – I did and that woman is next to me at the moment “
“I have dated a lot of women – a lot of high power women but I am not a cheap tart – I have slept with some women because they were hot or because I was drunk or lonely. But that was a long time ago though – in the last few years I have been looking for someone to go steady with “

Damn! Poor Shane, there’s very little that’s more painful than unrequieted, unspoken love. Hope she’ll be able to keep functioning and find someone of her own. Been wondering where you’d got to, hoping for rapid improvement, life and computer-wise.
“Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way…” I had a fleeting thought earlier that Shane might see Bette as more than a boss and a friend. I can understand Shane’s jealousy too. I mean, she was Bette’s main woman so to speak for so long until Tina came along. As for the real life problems, I hope they continue to improve.
Repeat after me: the word for today is “awkward!” I can’t wait to see how this plays out in your excellent story. More importantly, I hope life cuts you some slack soon. All the best.

what!!!!! shane and Bette, now thats a matching i would like to see, but maybe in another story because this story, i hope, is totally only going to be a Tibette story. anyway love it and plz continue!

Loving your writing, was giggling along as usual (particularly liked “we could call this scene study in confusion.”) and then you got me all subdued and pensive. Poor Shane. Cool twist – very interested to see how it plays out. I agree with the Carmen suggestion and trust you to work Shane’s feelings out in a suitably slow and thorough fashion. I adore this story and missed it while you were away, however your happiness is obviously more important than slaking the apparently infinite desire of your readers. Update when you can and be good to yourself. Thanks for writing.
i knwe it! that is not a normal Shane attitude!!! poor Shane work with somebody that she likes and the wors thing is that person is in love with somebody else. Great chapter, i really like it. post soon

So Shane is crushin on Bette; well that explains why she was so against the preshooking up w/ Tina. Now that Shane’s secret has been revealed how is she going to see Tina and every day??? On to the next chapter.
