    The Letter ch. 30

    The Letter

    Chapter 30

For the sake of the girls, after it was agreed upon that we would be going to Tina’s parents’ house for the week- end; I decided to put the whole Warren mess out of my mind. Even if only temporary, there was nothing I could do at this point and it would serve no purpose to obsess about it when we could be having fun. I felt a comfort in Joyce that I would have never thought possible in taking care of my family so all I hoped for over the weekend was to be able to spend time with Tina, Em and Lyss away from the madness that had become my life.

The girls seemed really ok after they talked with Joyce and that made me feel better. She was not someone who I would think would be comfortable with kids but she was wonderful with the girls. Where I had thought that I would have two miserably emotionally distraught girls on my hands, they weren’t. They seemed to have that same confidence in Joyce that I had and were maintaining their composure much better than I would have been able to do so at their ages.

Typically over the summer, the whole family would take a trip somewhere. It didn’t have to be far away but we tried our hardest to spend time together. I was a little afraid of the reaction I would get when I told them that the girls and I were going away with Tina. I’m sure we could squeeze in a vacation but they still wanted to go camping so that would probably not allow our normal family vacation. I shouldn’t have worried though. These people loved us and only wanted us to be happy.

The morning after we had decided to go, Tina had an early morning meeting and had left the house before I was barely awake. The girls had been pestering me more and more about being able to stay home alone and the neighbor was there almost all day so I decided to go ahead and let them. Alice or Shane would pop in during the day to check on them but I really had no reason to fear that they would get into any trouble. Both were such good kids.

    3. Really missed the story and your presence, glad to have you back. This was a great chapter with Tina bonding with the girls and her time with Bette in the tent, for a moment I thought Bette would join them. Great chapter. PPS

    6. Yea, Nag you are back! I have missed this story and I am so excited that it is back. Tina demonstrated that camping is fun. How can Bette choose the house over Tina and a sleeping bag. Come on Bette, try it you might like it!!!

    7. Zheese..do I need to remind you those of us that are Bette and Helena fans that have been waiting so PATIENTLY for more of your tale that you left off at a most INOPPORTUNE moment. New age…good update. I think Bette could rough it for one weekend, but oh well. I am just afraid that everyone is going too fast too soon, I don’t want the kids to be hurt any more than they have been, and what is going to happen with the evil G’s? I’m a wondering.

    8. Welcome Back! As I was scanning the new posts I had to do a double-take, and then check the date, LOL! Hope you had a good rest, but missed your stories terribly. Well, Bette must HATE camping to voluntarily give up a night snuggled with Tina ;-) Love the welcoming way Tina’s parents have accepted the girls. PPS.

    9. I was delighted to see another post for this story from you NAG. I never get tired of you or your writing. Fabulous update again. Now I’m off to read the update on the other one too! Bonus night!

    10. oh NAG, I’m very happy to see you post again, all that fresh air is good for you after the summer heat but I hope it didn’t get to much drama stired up in your head for this story. Ok I see you posted again after this one so I’m going to read that. Welcome back and Thank you, Md

    11. YEAH, look who’s back. It GREAT to see another chapter to this story. I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy that Tina’s parents as so nice and welcoming to Bette and the girls. Em and Lyssa really needed this positive experience and relaxing time. Tina REALLY know how to break Bette down and change her mind about being in a tent. LOL PPS:o).

    12. We are so glad you brought this story back. We enjoyed all the thoughts that Bette shared which led to the present, at the Kennard’s house. It was endearing to learn that she is more tempted to ask Tina to move in with her, not only because she loves her but also Tina has been able to earn a place to complement Bette’s family.
