The Letter ch. 30
Neither was surprised that we were going to Tina’s for the weekend. When she had described the place to both of them as they were getting to know one another, they knew that the girls would love to visit. I had also told them how wonderful her parents had been when we met so they were happy for us. Shane even had news and it shocked both of us since she had kept it such a secret from us.
She and Stacey had been seeing one another since my last show which was something that I didn’t know nor did I think that Tina knew. From the look on her face, it was something that was making Shane a happy woman. I was glad. In all the time I’ve known her, she wasn’t one to embrace relationships. She floundered through life having women who were not going to be there longer than a night or two. I would have never told her that I wanted her to settle down but I did. She has so much to offer someone that it seemed that she was doing herself such a disservice avoiding relationships.
Alice and I, because it was just too good to pass up, had to give her a ribbing about her news. It of course was just in fun. Her smile couldn’t have come off her face if she had tried to forcibly remove it. We sat around talking a little bit more before I finally had to head to work. As I was leaving, Shane asked me not to say anything to Tina. Stacey was going to tell her when they had time to get together. I had no problem agreeing to that. I knew that Tina would be happy for them both but she deserved the right to harass Stacey a little too.
The next couple of days seemed to fly by. I was trying to wrap up so much in such a short period of time. Because the trip was not something that was planned in advance, I had to rearrange some meetings which caused me to work late. Tina assured me that my working late was not a problem and that she would be there for the girls. Each night that I returned home, I found them in the kitchen making dinner, out by the pool or just lounging around watching television. They were becoming so comfortable with one another. It was wonderful to see.

Gosh, Bette sure is a stubborn thing…! Couldn’t she give up one night of comfort…? But I guess the two little ones and Tina will bond even more! Nice to see you back, nag! Hope you’re well! Always enjoyable!
Really missed the story and your presence, glad to have you back. This was a great chapter with Tina bonding with the girls and her time with Bette in the tent, for a moment I thought Bette would join them. Great chapter. PPS

Yea, Nag you are back! I have missed this story and I am so excited that it is back. Tina demonstrated that camping is fun. How can Bette choose the house over Tina and a sleeping bag. Come on Bette, try it you might like it!!!
Zheese..do I need to remind you those of us that are Bette and Helena fans that have been waiting so PATIENTLY for more of your tale that you left off at a most INOPPORTUNE moment. New age…good update. I think Bette could rough it for one weekend, but oh well. I am just afraid that everyone is going too fast too soon, I don’t want the kids to be hurt any more than they have been, and what is going to happen with the evil G’s? I’m a wondering.
Welcome Back! As I was scanning the new posts I had to do a double-take, and then check the date, LOL! Hope you had a good rest, but missed your stories terribly. Well, Bette must HATE camping to voluntarily give up a night snuggled with Tina ;-) Love the welcoming way Tina’s parents have accepted the girls. PPS.

YEAH, look who’s back. It GREAT to see another chapter to this story. I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy that Tina’s parents as so nice and welcoming to Bette and the girls. Em and Lyssa really needed this positive experience and relaxing time. Tina REALLY know how to break Bette down and change her mind about being in a tent. LOL PPS:o).
I missed this story a lot. Glad you are back
i too have missed this story. i have never commented before but have really enjoyed your writing. thank you!
We are so glad you brought this story back. We enjoyed all the thoughts that Bette shared which led to the present, at the Kennard’s house. It was endearing to learn that she is more tempted to ask Tina to move in with her, not only because she loves her but also Tina has been able to earn a place to complement Bette’s family.
