The Long and Winding Road chp 36
THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD
Tina pulled the car up in front of the huge white beach house owned by Helena Peabody. The weather was as bad as it ever got in LA — it was raining hard and the sky was full of thunder that grumbled loudly, flashes of lightening had lit up the sky during their drive to the beach
. Beside her Bette was sleeping – Tina looked with love at her partner. Bette had endured a bad few days – she was sleeping more and today she had just stayed cranky all day. Tina had taken the day off to take care of her pregnant lover.
The night before they had made love almost despite themselves – they had both fallen into bed shattered but their bodies had reacted to the closeness of their lover. It had been foreplay that had almost happened in their semi-sleep. Sex had been good – passionate and tender in equal measure. Tina was worried that she had been a little too passionate for Bette who had cried out in pain at one point – horrifying Tina until she had been reassured ..
“Hey Bette “
Tina touched Bette’s arm who opened her eyes
“Hey – we here ? “
“Yeah – how are you feeling ? “
“Not that bad – just tired “
“I’ll get you home in good time “ Tina promised stroking Bette’s dark hair “ Got to take care of my precious family “
Tina lent closer and kissed Bette’s bare arm. Bette was wearing a wide black skirt and a red shirt.
“All four of us “
“All four of us “
Tina helped Bette to struggle out of the car while Tina held an umbrella over her. They moved quickly to the house and the door was flung over by Shane
“This weather is just horrible- we were worried that you wouldn’t risk the drive “ Shane said to Tina.
“I know that I am a good driver – I just have to be very careful with my family. I know that Helena has gone to a lot of trouble “ Tina replied.

HEy Ally, Brill to have you back and OMG the baby is on his way. Yippee!! Many thanks for this wonderful story. Your Loyal Fan.
We are going to have a little Bette in Levis and his Moms beautiful smile. that was so beautiful, Dont forget the storm can they make it to the hospital in time. are we having a home birth? thanks
oh goodness – a baby a storm no phone lines – you know how to bring the drama – I love you for it.
oh damn ‘contractions two minutes apart’!..that is close she should be at the hospital by now :P Tina will panick for sure! so..she will have the baby at home or car or hospital ?? The weather wont help either. I cant wait for next chapter.
LOL…such a bad timing for Tina…hopefully storm won’t prevent Bette from having a healthy baby
Oh Ally, you such a drama queen. Nothing like a bad storm to make a woman go into labor. Please keep Jr Porter safe. Great Story!
Ally, this is so good, I could just picture Bette’s face when Tina proposed. Hope everything will be alright with them.
Hm, seems Tina’s timing is a little off.
They could just cover up one of Helena’s couches and Bette could give birth country style like my great-grandmother did. lol
LOL, I love you but I’m about to drop our son. I hope that B&T make it to the hospital on time. I am sure that Helena owns a Range Rover, they are pretty much tanks and can make it thru anything. After Tina’s miscarriage, I don’t think either one of them can make it through a home birth during a storm.
You ARE the Drama Queen. No doubt about it. Please no problems w/the baby.
AllyE, don’t let anything happen in the storm, okay. Let the birth be successful with both mother and child okay. Love the story but, please go mild on the drama.
Talk about dropping a bombshell. I hope Tina doesn’t feel upstaged, even though I’m sure she understands Bette wasn’t trying to top her. (What pun?) Poor Bette may have to do without the hospital she so desperately craves.
Call 911 STAT! Cliffy Master! The storm and everything A! The cell phone dead! Wow! if they need assistance on child birth, let me know, i will volunteer myself to be on call…ALL NIGHT! ( JB and the jaffa cake..i’ll take that! anytime) Thanks mate , u know what i mean.
OMG Ally, I hope Bette and the baby will be okay. I loved the part about them each telling about their fears. Total riot about Tina being freaked out by Mickey Mouse, because even my granddaughter isn’t afraid of him and she is only 14 months old. Please don’t make us wait to long to find out what happens with Bette having the baby. You really know how to leave your readers hanging. And just so you know–even though you used a certain phrase in this chapter–you are not going to get me to ever say it again–so there! LOL!!!
NO KIDDING she should be at the hospital now.Are we gonna get to see Tina’s midwife skills? sue
Ally, you are so good, but you’re killing me here! Can’t wait for more, but don’t rush yourself or anything! LOL
Oh Snap! Baby Time!
