Bette and Tina exchanged looks – they were both blown away by the amazing kindness shown to them by all their friends.
“Thank you Helena – thank you to all of you. If you are not frequent visitors to London we are both going to be very cross. Please come and stay with us anytime you like for as long as you like – we both want our children to grow up surrounded by the love of our friends “
“I think that is guaranteed “ Alice said “ I want to see Bette as a mom “
“You don’t think I can do it Alice ? “
“Yes – I think you can do it – but you are going to have to develop some elusive Porter patience “
“I know that Alice — I am just going to have to remember that my son is only a little bit more immature than you “
“Ouch Bette – that hurt “

They all sat chatting for another hour until Bette got up to go to the bathroom.
“So when are you going to ask her to marry you again ? “ Shane said to Tina.
“When she comes back from the loo “
“We can all leave if you want “
“No – I would like you all to stay – it is important that you all hear what I want to say to her “
Bette returned feeling sick. She knew she was having problems – she knew that all day. She had been having false contractions all day and they were getting harder to hide because they were beginning to hurt more. This was more serious than she had first thought.
Tina stood up – Bette looked at her in puzzlement
“What is up T ? “
Tina took hold of Bette’s left hand and dropped to one knee.
“Bette Porter – you are my heart’s salvation . You are the woman I love to the exclusion of all women -and men. My life is only complete when we are together. I know that we both have to work hard to regain the trust we lost but I vow that I am prepared for however tough it gets because I now know how much I need you and how my love for you has seeped through to my bones. Please Bette agree to become my wife again “
Tina looked up at Bette hoping for a huge smile or maybe a tear to indicate that she wanted their remarriage as much as Tina. All she saw was hurt and pain. Bette visibly gritted her teeth as the pain returned with more force.
Their friends looked at one another – all worried. Would Bette really refuse Tina’s proposal.
“Tina I love you so much – I want my life to be part of yours forever. But “
“BUT ? “ Tina almost burst into tears
“My waters have broken and the contractions that I thought were false obviously aren’t and they are about two minutes apart “

oh damn ‘contractions two minutes apart’!..that is close she should be at the hospital by now :P Tina will panick for sure! so..she will have the baby at home or car or hospital ?? The weather wont help either. I cant wait for next chapter.
LOL…such a bad timing for Tina…hopefully storm won’t prevent Bette from having a healthy baby

Hm, seems Tina’s timing is a little off.
They could just cover up one of Helena’s couches and Bette could give birth country style like my great-grandmother did. lol
LOL, I love you but I’m about to drop our son. I hope that B&T make it to the hospital on time. I am sure that Helena owns a Range Rover, they are pretty much tanks and can make it thru anything. After Tina’s miscarriage, I don’t think either one of them can make it through a home birth during a storm.
You ARE the Drama Queen. No doubt about it. Please no problems w/the baby.
AllyE, don’t let anything happen in the storm, okay. Let the birth be successful with both mother and child okay. Love the story but, please go mild on the drama.
Talk about dropping a bombshell. I hope Tina doesn’t feel upstaged, even though I’m sure she understands Bette wasn’t trying to top her. (What pun?) Poor Bette may have to do without the hospital she so desperately craves.

OMG Ally, I hope Bette and the baby will be okay. I loved the part about them each telling about their fears. Total riot about Tina being freaked out by Mickey Mouse, because even my granddaughter isn’t afraid of him and she is only 14 months old. Please don’t make us wait to long to find out what happens with Bette having the baby. You really know how to leave your readers hanging. And just so you know–even though you used a certain phrase in this chapter–you are not going to get me to ever say it again–so there! LOL!!!

Poor Tina she just poored her heart out and Bette says but. I can’t wait to see how Bette handles child birth process. I guess Tina realizes that Bette was not turning her down but was in serious pain.
