    Bette smiled – she was so thrilled at being with Tina that she had forgotten how long the day had been and how much she

    “I have missed you Tina – no one could ever come close.”

    “I know and I know that because I tried to replace you “

    “You never dated any women ? “

    “I had a couple of dates but I wasn’t going to be dated just because I was Bette Porter’s ex wife which was what happened. “

    “I am sorry – you deserve the best Tina – you always have “

    “If you don’t think we have a chance Bette – if you don’t have feelings for me – tell me “

    Bette could tell that her caution had been misinterpreted. She took hold of both of Tina’s hands.

     

    “Babe – I will love you until the day I die. My final thought will be you, you will be the last face I see, the last voice I hear. I was born to love you – I left LA because I couldn’t bear the thought of seeing you at The Planet and you not being my wife.     Tina wished she hadn’t been the one who had just said it but she had been. She looked at Bette who grinned.

    29. Damn, Bette can make anything look sexy. You used one my favorite words, lascivious. In my early 20’s some co-workers and I were to learn a new word, spell it and define it. I never did remember how to spell it but to this day I love saying it. I am so glad that they are reconnecting. Life is to short and too lonely to not take advantage of spending that special time with the one that you love.

Slow, sweet, soft… I do find it a tad strange that it’s all happening so quickly and easily; I guess it’s the mild cynical side of me where I think that anything to do with love is hard. Well that’s been my life experience…but in the end I guess I must still say that i’ve been fortunate enough to have loved…if not loved in return.
