“Doctor Kray, what’s happening with Angelica, I’ve been here for hours and no ones told me anything, I’m going out of my mind”

“Sorry it’s taken so long, would you like to come outside so that I can talk to you”

“Doctor Kray these are my friend’s and family anything you’ve got to say to me you can say with them present, this woman stood by my side is Angelica’s other mother Bette Porter”

“We’ve completed the CAT Scan, which showed that there is a slight pressure build up on the brain. At the moment we don’t feel the need to operate, as Angelica is breathing on her own this indicates that her brain function is not affected, we feel that it would be best to leave it for the time being but monitor her condition by doing regular scan’s, we will also keep her on the heart monitor”

“When will she wake up” Tina asked

“Unfortunately I cannot tell you that, it really depends on when the pressure reduces”

“Can we see her” Bette asked

“Of course I will take you to her”

Bette and Tina followed the doctor to Angelica’s room. Tina walked in and stood by the bed, Bette followed but getting to the door and seeing her daughter connected up to the machine for the first time she felt her knees go weak and she took a sharp intake of breath. Hearing this Tina rushed over to Bette, looking into her eyes she said “oh baby I’m so sorry I forgot that you hadn’t seen her like this, please forgive me for not warning you” all Bette could do was nod her head.

Bette and Tina walked over to the bed, they each took a separate side sitting down in the chairs, Bette took Angelica’s tiny hand in hers bringing it to her mouth she kissed it just as Tina had done earlier, Tina watched this with tears in her eye’s she could feel the love that Bette had for her little girl, she felt ashamed that she had ever threatened to take her away from Bette.

Bette could feel Tina’s eyes on her, lifting her head she looked at Tina

“T, what happened?”

“I really don’t know I put her in her play pen this morning when I came home from the planet so I could get changed and she started screaming I looked her over saw the bruise and lump on her head took her to the doctors and then came here” Tina put her head on the bed, she couldn’t deal with Bette looking at her and perhaps being able to read her mind and finding out the real reason that she went home this morning. She wasn’t ready just yet to let Bette know how she felt, all her resolve that she had earlier to get Bette back seemed to have left her.
