    The Party

Henry stared at her, breathing heavily, blood trickling from his nose, but the fire in Bette’s eyes made him flinch

Bette turned immediately to Tina, her hands hovered for a moment before gently cupping Tina’s face, her voice suddenly soft.

Bette: Hey… T are you okay? Did he hurt you?

Tina (voice breaking, eyes glossy): I was so scared, Bette. I didn’t know what to do…

Bette pulled her into a firm, grounding hug, one hand protectively on the back of Tina’s head, the other around her waist.

Bette (pulling her close): You’re safe now. I’ve got you. I won’t let him or anyone hurt you.

Tina collapsed into her arms, burying her face in Bette’s shoulder. Bette held her tightly, her touch steady and warm.

After a long moment, Bette pulled back just enough to look into her eyes.

Tina (voice breaking): I didn’t… I didn’t know he was like that.

Bette (gently): You don’t have to explain. He won’t come near you again. I promise. Let’s get out of here.

    Tina (nodding): Yeah… yeah, please.

With one final glance at Henry, Bette wrapped an arm around Tina and led her out of the room, shielding her from the still laughing crowd, completely unaware of what had almost happened behind a closed door.

Bette and Tina quickly leave the party after the confrontation. Bette keeps her arm protectively around Tina, guiding her to her car.

    EXT. PARKING LOT

The air is crisp. The hum of the city and muffled party music fills the silence between Bette and Tina as they walk briskly toward the car. Tina clutches Bette’s coat around her, eyes dazed, her body trembling.

Bette (softly): Almost there. Just breathe, baby. I’ve got you.

Helena stepped out of the house just in time to see Bette and Tina heading toward the car. She slowed, her eyes narrowing. Tina’s posture was wrong too tense. Her dress was wrinkled, her hand clutched tightly in Bette’s. Something wasn’t right.

She quickened her pace and called out, stopping them just before they reached the car.

Helena’s voice, sharp, cutting through the quiet.

    Helena: Tina…

They both stop. Bette turns, shielding Tina slightly with her body. Helena is marching toward them, heels clicking on the pavement, her eyes locked on Tina.

    1. Wow, Bette got there just in the nick of time. That bastard needs so much more than Bette gave him. Seems like Helena might just have more than friendship love for Tina. With both Bette and Helena against him, Henry is going to wish he never laid eyes on Tina. I can’t wait to see what he has coming his way.
