The Perfect Getaway – Chapter 6

"Look I’m sorry for saying this but in my defense I ** tried to say something. All day I’ve tried to talk to you but there were always interruptions. If it wasn’t Brian, it was something or someone else. I love you, T but I don’t think it’s fair that I get penalized for that . . ."

As Tina listened to her wife’s heartfelt speech, she couldn’t help but nod her head. As upset as she was with Bette, Tina knew there was truth to what the brunette was saying.

"You’re right" Tina cut in during Bette’s long speech and made the brunette lose her train of thought. She was on a roll too.

    "I- . . What?"

"I said, you’re right" The look on Bette’s face was priceless and Tina closed the distance between them to cup her wife’s face, "Baby, I shouldn’t have been so quick to act. You did try to talk to me today and I kept brushing you off. Had I listened, this would have never happened. I overreacted and I’m sorry"

Bette was so completely floored by Tina’s confession that she didn’t answer for at least a whole minute. She finally shook herself out of her daze and raised an eyebrow, her expression was one of disbelief.

"Wait, so you’re saying I’m right?"

Tina nodded with guilt and remorse. She and Bette had fought a lot over the past few months but Tina always hated it.

"As in you’re wrong . .?" Bette was still insure of what she was hearing.

    "Yeah" Tina admitted shamefully.

    "And I’m right"

Again another nod but this one was joined with a smile.

    ". . But you’re not"

"Yes, okay?!" Tina laughed and shook her wife’s shoulders.

"Just checking" Bette said with a playful smirk.

Tina shook her head and leaned in for a make up kiss, interrupted of course by her teasing wife.

"Does this mean that I can take back my apology?"

Tin laughed and shook her head. God how she loved her ridiculous wife, "Just shut up and kiss me"

"I’d love to" Bette smiled at her beautiful wife, glad that they made it passed the Andrea obstacle and were back on track to enjoying their vacation . . even if it was a nightmare.

    1. Great chapter. Bette can sometimes go off the rails and this was a doozy. When she can get her mind in gear she will do and say the right thing for Tina and herself. Thanks for posting.

    2. Ditto JP …. it’s all in the timing and oh boy did Bette get it wrong …majorly wrong..this was perfectly written Liah… the hill ahead will be hard to climb… but in your capable hands it’ll be sensational, I’m sure…Happy New Year to you ..Kx

    3. Sorry, I’m laughing at some of the comments. Could a vacation get any worse for our couple. I wonder what would have happened had they not had all the disruptions… just saying. Bette’s reactions are normal for someone who didn’t have both parents lovingly support her. We all have our foibles and fears. But, I’m quite sure that in the end she’ll be able to get it together for Tina’s sake. Thanks for an awesome posting!
