    A sort of B/T romantic comedy

    The Planet was full with the usual breakfast clients when Bette came in. She waved at her sister who was behind the counter busy with taking orders, giving a hand to the staff and Kit distractedly waved back.

    It took only a second for Bette to locate her friends sitting at a table a few meters away and she rapidly walked over to join them.

     

    “Hi.” Bette said while pulling a chair to sit with them.

    There was a chorus of “heys” in answer.

    “So, looking good today, Porter.” Alice said giving Bette an exaggerated once over and taking in her black pant suit with thin silver vertical stripes and her silk silver button down shirt that hugged her slim figure.

    “Oh, fuck off Alice.” Bette replied with a tinge of annoyance.

    Shane and Tasha chuckled but then Shane added seriously.

    “Al does have a point though. You look good.”

     

    “Yeah, way better than when you were seeing Jodi. I think those awful robes were rubbing off on you.” Alice said teasingly.

    “I have a meeting with some of the university sponsors today.” Bette said simply refusing to take the bait.

    “So, are you going to the wedding?” Alice asked unrepentantly.

    “Alice!” Tasha called annoyed to her girlfriend.

    “What?! I was just asking. I mean it’s not everyday your girlfriend of two years dumps you and then five minutes later tells you she met the love of her life and they are getting married and oh yeah you are invited to the grand four days event.”

    “It wasn’t exactly like that, Alice.” Bette narrowed her eyes, her whole face becoming guarded.

    “Drop it, Al.” Shane whispered quietly while Tasha gave her girlfriend a sideways look.

     

    Just as Alice was about to open her mouth to retort, the door to The Planet opened and Jodi and her girlfriend Janet came in. They all watched in silence as they signed something to each other and chuckled happily leaning closely together seemingly completely oblivious to the fact that they had an audience.

    Shane, Tasha and Alice turned to watch Bette’s reaction just in time to catch a look of pain and sadness that the brunette couldn’t quite hide.

    2. I almost stopped reading when I read the bit about Jodi being Bette’s ex.. however the premise is really awesome. Although, I can’t stand Jodi so I hope she either plays a minor role.. or ends up heartbroken and alone at the end. She is annoying as fuck on or off the show. I do like the thought of B/T meeting like this though.. very The Wedding Date. Only, thankfully Tina isn’t an escort.

    3. Just a quick suggestion then I’ll get back to reading. Instead of using BBCode for bolding and whatnot, you can highlight what you want bolded then hit the bold button during the posting process. :)
