The performance of a lifetime chapter 1

As soon as the two women were out the door Alice couldn’t contain herself and asked what was on everyone’s minds.

    “You have a date?”

    “No, Alice I don’t have a date.”

“Then why did you tell them you had a date?”

“Because I don’t want her fucking pity.”

“Well, I’m single and…” Shane begun only to have Alice interrupt her.

“Shane, if Bette wanted to date you she would have, years ago.”

    “Oh, screw you Al.”

“You hear that, Tash? What do you say? Fancy accompanying me to the bathroom?” Alice asked with a wink earning a chuckle and a kiss on her cheek from her girlfriend.

“I’ll get back to you on that one at home.”

    Bette smiled at everyone’s antics.

“What I was going to say before Al’s mind dropped into its home in the gutter was that I’m single and I’m going as single.” Shane shrugged.

“Shane, sweetie that is only going to last five minutes.” Bette replied.

“Yeah Shane, a wedding full of emotional lesbians? You are going to have to beat them away with a stick.” Alice teased.

“So, what’s your plan, Bette?” Tasha asked bringing back the seriousness to the conversation.

    The brunette shrugged her shoulders.

“I’ll tell them my date was busy and I’m going to be attending alone.”

“You do know that will completely mess up your show her I’m moving on plan.” Shane said quietly.

Bette felt her face heat up a bit at being so accurately read by her friends and irritation shown in her voice.

“And where will I find someone to go with me as my girlfriend to a fucking four days wedding?”

They all picked up their coffees and sipped quietly for a minute while they contemplated Bette’s words.

“I have an idea…” Alice begun only to have Bette interrupt her.

    “No.”

“But you haven’t even heard what it is.” Alice said indignantly.

“No mistaking that tone of voice of yours, Al.” Shane calmly let out in between one sip of coffee and the next.

Alice threw Shane a venomous look but let it go to continue her line of thought.

“Actually I think I know someone who you could take to the wedding…”

    1. AWESOME….a four day wedding will certainly provide many opportunities for the gang’s hilarious antics & hopefully lots of cute B&T moments!!! Please do continue :)

    2. I almost stopped reading when I read the bit about Jodi being Bette’s ex.. however the premise is really awesome. Although, I can’t stand Jodi so I hope she either plays a minor role.. or ends up heartbroken and alone at the end. She is annoying as fuck on or off the show. I do like the thought of B/T meeting like this though.. very The Wedding Date. Only, thankfully Tina isn’t an escort.

    3. Just a quick suggestion then I’ll get back to reading. Instead of using BBCode for bolding and whatnot, you can highlight what you want bolded then hit the bold button during the posting process. :)

    4. SABINA! This is fantastic! Thanks for the dedication, hun. *blushes* What a great premise, this is going to be so much fun! Alice is freakin’ funny. I can’t wait for more!

    5. wow… i love this… and like lament said they could just about stand each other in the beginning but then it heats up… OMG… this is going to be so good… PPS

    6. I see alot of antics to come. LOL! Only Alice could convince someone this was a good plan. I feel for Bette but I can’t wait for Tina to put the pieces of her heart back together. :)

    7. This is really good and a different start for them! Can’t wait for your next post….ahhh you already have (rushing off to read your next installment).
