That was the first time Helena had heard monster in reference to her actions – the first time being from Bette after her confession – and it dug into her the wrong way. “You have no right to talk to me that way.”
“I’ll talk to you any way I please!” Tina insisted quietly, but just as potently furious.
Helena wanted to slap her for a comment she found insolent, but she knew better than that. She relaxed her arm at her side and just stared ahead at Tina, hating her. She hated her because she knew, deep down, that Tina had every right to fight back with her. She was one of the few who ever dared to do it.
Finally, Helena regained her voice. “You’re half her age.”
“No I’m not,” Tina scoffed, still unable to smile as she tried to control her body. She wanted to hurt Helena for all the pain the woman had put Bette through over the years, but she kept herself physically calm. “Stop being so dramatic.”
She held her gaze with Helena’s, showing that in other times to come, she would stand up for Bette and for herself against the manipulative woman.
The fierce gaze startled Helena, and she couldn’t say a thing.
“If you ever hurt her again …”
Helena was entertained by the threat at first, thinking of it as a sort of game, but when she looked closer into Tina’s eyes, she saw the spark of fear and survival that plagued Tina’s reality. It was no game to her – she was protecting Bette.
Helena had respect for that. She wouldn’t have dared to confess it, but she respected Tina for her bold opposition. She simply stared back at Tina, reading into her eyes and hearing the last piece of the phrase: You’ll be sorry.
Without another word, Tina backed up toward the door, always keeping her eye on Helena as she reached down and picked up her things, slinging her backpack over her shoulder.
Helena didn’t need to hear any last words when Tina looked back at her – she could read everything in the fiery eyes. Tina would do anything for Bette. The door slammed as Tina left, and all Helena could do was collapse into the chair, dropping her head in her hands as she shut off the music. “Way to go,” she grumbled to herself, closing her eyes to really think – not that she understood everything Tina had said. But the sadness plagued her thoughts, sitting alone in Bette’s office. In silence.

Thank you for the second post today. This story keeps getting better and better. I love that Tina told Bette what happened right away and didn’t let her fear get in the way of keeping Bette informed of Helena’s actions.
Whew caught up! I think the best way for Bette to surpass all her pain is to confront Helena once and for all without fear and put her in her place
Hey GrindRight, So let me get this straight , Helena didn’t know how to satisfy Bette and as a result she lost her .When she realizes Bette is finding happiness with Tina she wishes to destroy their relationship.I guess it’s true you can’t make anyone else happy if you are not happy with yourself. I absolutely loved the bed scene. Yeah it can be sexy and gratifying simply being close to someone you care for without going all the way.
You are spoiling me with two posts today. I have to tell you that this story has me checking this site two and three times a day which is something I haven’t done in a long time. I love that TIna didn’t back down from Helena and that she was honest with Bette about what took place in her office. Tina knows that no relationship of any kind can exist without trust. If you’re up for another post tonight, I’ll be up for about another hour. Lol! PPS.

I must say that I’m enjoying this journey you are taking us on. I knew that Helena wouldn’t take her leave so easily. Sigh.On a positive note, I totally melted over the pyjama-reading in bed-cuddle time scene. Can they *be* any cuter?!
I knew Helena wouldn’t take it lying down. She sees Bette as her property that she has been able to control for so long. As she can’t stand that Bette will be truly happy with Tina. Info wonder if Helena will play this wicked game until everything falls apart including get own self worth that barely exists.
Just amazing how their relationship is getting stronger and stronger. Tina needs to show Helena a thing or two. We need to see Alpha Bette! :)
