The Promise
Shane gathered her drink and her strength as she left her hideaway in the shadows. Bette caught a glimpse of the Raven mystery in the corner.
Bette: Something wicked this way comes.
She said to herself as a mysteriously sly look came over her face. Tina hadn’t seen that expression on her face in a while and sat back searching to see what had caught Bette’s eye. Tina’s jaw dropped when she saw Shane sauntering up to the table nonchalantly. Tina looked back at Bette wondering why she hadn’t attacked Shane the moment she saw her. Lara and Jenny were the next to spot notice Tina’s face and looked over to see Shane as she stepped up and climbed over Tina and sat in Bette’s lap with her back to Alice.
Shane: Hello lover.
Shane wrapped an arm around Bette and took a sip from her drink as she looked at her seductively.
Bette: Why Shane I do believe it’s been too long since our last rendezvous
Bette said in her best Scarlet O’Hare voice.
Shane: Well I came as soon as I saw the ‘Bat Signal’ in the sky,.heard you ladies were in desperate need of a little Shane time.
Bette touched the back of her hand to her forehead and tilted her head back in a dramatic manner.
Bette: Shane McCutcheon taking time out of her busy Hollywood schedule to grace us with her presence,.I do believe I’m getting the vapors.
The two giggle like little girls and came out of their fantasy scene when they noticed the baffled looks of the women around them. Lara and Jenny had gone completely pale, both presumably waiting for the others to flip-out at the table, especially since they weren’t as tight with Shane, but knew her arrival was a big deal. Tina’s jaw was still hanging open and Shane reached over with her drink still in her hang and pushed up her chin. Tina had known that Shane would be coming by tonight since Alice had called her from work earlier today, but she had no idea that Bette would act like this. She even made a production of going with Bette to get drinks so that when they returned to the table, she could pin her on the inside of the booth, stifling her escape. Dana crossed her arms and let out an angry sigh.
