    Day 94, 21 August

     

    Dearest Carmen

     

    We had a child friendly party today at WAX.  Shay and his friends wanted to skateboard with the half pipe.  It’s a good way to mingle with his friends too.   We also put in some video games in the other room.  Helena took care of the catering.  She was the second most affected person after our non-wedding. Yet, she had not blamed me a bit. 

     

    Luckily, we got through the day without any injuries. Otherwise, God knows how many more underwear ads I need to do to pay them off!

     

    All in all, the day went well.  Shay was so tired afterwards; he fell asleep on the couch.  I can watch him sleep all day, like I used to watch you.

    Paige’s House

     

    I’m taking Shay to Paige’s, they are having a sleepover tonight, minus me of course.  We decided to maintain our friendship for the kids’ sake.  She seems to be fine with it.

     

    I knock on the door and wait. No one answers, we are about to turn back, then Paige emerges.  She looks like she had just woken up.

     

    “Sorry, I was in the bathroom when you knocked.” She apologizes.

     

    “It’s ok.  I thought you maybe out.”

     

    “Come in, Shay.  Jared is in the garden.”

     

    “Well, I better go then.”  I say without looking at her.

     

    “Honey, are you coming back to bed?”  I heard a familiar voice in the background.  I frowned, where have I heard that voice before?

     

    “Coming…”  She shouts back.

     

    “I should go anyway.”  She has company, although a bit strange to see her with a man.  I turn to walk away.

     

    “Dad?”  This is definitely Shay’s voice, but who is he calling dad at Paige’s place?

     

    I look back and saw the face in between Paige and the door frame.  Fuck!  You are kidding me?!  Gabriel McCutheon is in the hallway.  I am shocked beyond words can comprehend.  This is the last place on earth that I would expect to see him.

     

    “Dad?”  Paige echoes.  I am still in shock.

     

    He just stands there, smiling in amazement.  “Well, this saves me a trip from coming to see you!”  he says charmingly.

    1. Thanks for posting ^^ The scene where Carmen sings was…weird…I have to admit that I laughed when I imagined that, but it was nice to see Carmen supporting Shane. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for your next chapter.

    3. Wow, the Shane/Paige/Gabe scene had my eyes popping out of their sockets ! Poor Paige. She’s been played in the nastiest of ways :( That man is an ass.

    4. Of course Carmen can sing!!!! She’s not just a pretty face. It was a nice post, i really enjoyed the two songs and the way everything is moving. It’s nice to see how they get closer and closer. PPS Loving every single word of it.

    5. I love that Carmen and Shane are so connected and in tune with each other emotionally that Carmen knows where to find Shane when she’s troubled and she also knows how to cheer her up… with love and sweet songs. Keep on writing. I think this is the real deal. PPS

    6. Ugh. I hate that Shane lost Shay. I like the way you had Carmen cheer her up though. Wow..Shane’s mom looking for her. That will be interesting.It was also an interesting development with Carmen’s step dad being abusive. Adds more to her character development. I like it.

    8. There’s so much going on it’s great!! I really hate Gabe, he is such a horible person. I love how Carmen and Shane can just be there for each other despite the fact that their relationship is really up in the air. It shows that no matter what the current circumstances are they truly care for each other…and that’s something to build a relationship on. I really hope that Shane’s mom coming into the picture is a good thing…I don’t think I could handle anymore heartbreak for Shane. Awesome job!!!
