Tina was sitting at her desk when Cindy walked in carrying a gift-wrapped box
and set it down in front of her.
Cindy: (trying to read Tina’s reaction as she set the box down on her desk)
“You got another delivery today and I’ll bet you can guess who it is from.”
Tina: (smiling and checking out the box) “Thanks. I wonder what she sent
today.”
Cindy: (surprised that Tina commented because she hadn’t the previous two days)
“That is the third package in as many days. Someone must like you.”
Tina: (sat there for a moment unsure what to say but then just smiled) “I think
so too.”
Cindy: (thinking to her self ‘Obviously you like her too’ but she remained
silent on the subject) “I have a few errands I need to run at lunchtime, so
would it be okay if I leave a little early for lunchsay in about 30 minutes?”
Tina: “Sure.”
Cindy turned and walked out of Tina’s office. She wondered what was in the
package but she wasn’t brave enough to ask.
Tina began to unwrap the package and found the note from Bette she was sure she
would find inside. She sat the note aside and pried open the box. Inside was a
small glass paperweight, which had a scenic picture of a sunset etched inside
and an electronic base. Tina set the paperweight on top of the base and plugged
the electrical plug into the wall. She watched as the base slowly changed
colors and the color changes were reflected like a prism through the
paperweight. Tina watched in fascination for a few moments before she reached
over and read the note that Bette had sent.
Dearest Tina,
I was out shopping last night and this caught my eye. It reminded me of the
night we sat and watched the sunset on the beach. If things work out the way I
want them to, then you and I will share many more sunsets togetherand if we
wind up together as I am hoping, then this will be a reminder of the first
sunset we shared together.

P.S. I am anxiously waiting to see you on Friday night.
After Tina read the note, she laid the paper down on her desk and rested her
head in her hands. Then she slowly began to rub her hands up and down her face
while she tried to deal with all of the emotions she was feeling. While she
loved the gifts that Bette had sent her she was feeling a little overwhelmed at
Bette’s words and honesty. She shook her head as if to trying to clear her mind
and reached for her phone to call Bette but she stopped. Tina realized she
needed some time to try and figure out exactly what she was feeling and what
she wanted.

You know, I especially enjoyed all these so cute comings and goings between the Bette Porter Gallery and the Alphaville studios ! Well, at first I thought that something could finally happened between the so busy messengers Jonathan and Cindy, but it seems that the so obviously disturbed Cindy could prefer the sooo “able to turn any straight woman’s head” gallery’s owner, hmm ? (*amused wink !*)
Our two lovebirds are so lovely here, with their respective fears… Especially our dear Bette, always so deeply irresistible when she’s feeling insecure ! Each time I’m melting – and I wonder how Tina can resist to run into the gallery… What a bravery !
