Kit nodded. “Yeah, that’s the one. We have been on-again, off-again.back and forth for a while.”
“Are you back together now?”, asked Bette.
Kit shook her head. “No. We just spent the night together a few months back. Wellthree to be exact.”
“Three months? You’re three months pregnant?”
“Yeah.”
“Does Roger know?”, asked Bette.
“No. Not yet. I’m gonna tell him though. Soon. Very soon.”
“Oh Kit. You’ve gotta tell him.”
“I will. I will. I justit’s been hard for me to come to terms with it all. I didn’t expect this to happen.”
Bette sighed. “I can understand that.”
When Kit’s look became curious at her last statement, Bette continued the flow of conversation.
“Did you tell your mom?”, she asked.
“Not yet. I will soon, though.”
“And Daddy?”, asked Bette.
“Maybe I’ll tell himwhen my child is around10.”
Bette smiled, “I can understand that.”
“Exactly. You know our father’s crazy.”
“I know he is. Don’t worry though, your secret is safe with me.”, said Bette.
“Thanks, Baby Girl.”
“No problem.”, said Bette. She got up and walked around the table, holding up the thawing broccoli spears and examining her sister’s ankle.
“How does it feel?”, she asked.
Kit wiggled her ankle around and then tried to stand. “It’s a little better. Still a little stiff and tender, but it feels better.”
“Try to walk around a bit.”, said Bette.
“Okay.” Kit made a few small circles on the tiled kitchen floor and said, “It feels okay. I think I’ll be fine.”
“You sure?”, asked Bette.
“Yeah. I think I’m fine.”
“Good. I’m glad. I feel so bad with you tripping over our bags. I’m so sorry about that.”, said Bette.
“It’s okay.”, Kit replied.
Kit started to pull herself together and as she did so, Bette asked “Hey Kit?”
“Yeah? What’s up?”
“Are youare you scared?”
Kit smiled weakly and pulled on her white tunic, glancing down at the floor before looking up into her sister’s eyes. “Yeah, I’m..I’m scared to death.”
“I’m glad you shared it with me. If you need anything, please call me.”, said Bette.
“Wow. You’re really growing up, huh?”
“I guess I am.”, said Bette.
“Give me a hug, Baby Sis. I’m gonna head back and give you a little space.”
The sisters embraced and shared a smile. Kit headed towards the door and as she did so, tossed a look back at Bette.
“Hey Bette?”
“Yeah?”, asked Bette.
“I love you.”
Bette smiled. “I love you, too Kit.”
Kit let herself out and Bette locked the door behind her, before bounding back up the stairs to check on the naked woman resting in her bed.

It’s great that Kit is still the Kit we love and adore. Great that the sisters are bonding, how could they not, after their shared experience. That was great.

You have raised the bar so high that most other authors can’t even see it and yet you always manage to raise a little bit higher each time. I am so thrilled at seeing another fine post from you.
Brilliant twist by introducing Kit at this point. At least Bette has another supporter in her family abet one which is a bit of a black sheep. Just like Aunt Karen. Acorns don’t fall far from the Oak, I guess.
This is the simplest of scenes as Bette and Kit talk but given your talent and skill it has become a living a breathing entity full of promise, emotion and much satisfaction for the readers.

You know, I don’t know how to tell you this and hope you don’t call me a liar. Ok when I read your last chapter and about who’s at the door that accidentally saw Bette and Tina make love and I don’t even thinking that is Kit and this morning when I wake up I suddenly know who’s at the door and is Kit and I think that it’s the one who’s we not thinking about lately, and I’m glad you post this chapter and I know who is now and good way to introduce Kit to us, love it. Bette and Kit is a little bit shy and they have a good coversation and damn what a surprise Kit’s pregnant and let see what’s next. Post soon please, thanks! Good chapter!
