Chapter 56
Bette held up her hand. “Wait. What thing with Lara? What happened between you two?”
Dana shook her head and looked away. “We kissed. We were talking last night and one thing led to another. We kissed. And today….it’s like it never happened. I’m really falling for her and now, she’s acting like it never happened.”

“Well, you could run for QA VP and implement a program like that”, said Emily.
“Oh no”, said Bette.
The old Emily was slowly emerging. A slow smile spread across her plump, flushed cheeks. “Oh yeah. It would be awesome. I can see the headlines now: ‘The Queen of Lesbians Implements Life-Changing Support Plan.’”
Bette couldn’t help but return Emily’s smile. She was both amused and intrigued. “You think I could really do something like that?”
“You totally could.”
“Would you help me?”, asked Bette.
“I’d be totally honored.”
Bette was quiet for a moment. “Then I think I want to run.”
Chapter 57
Not long after their talk, Dana bid Bette farewell and headed home to start packing her things. When she was gone, Bette sat back on her bed and nervousness flitted around her insides. She knew that Tina might not take her new-found political initiatives very well. It was more than enough that her still-closeted girlfriend was coming to the QA meeting. Now Bette had reached another level.
Damon had been right. She was jumping out of the closet. Her secret was already out. Melvin had disowned her and her mother still loved her. Bette had nothing to lose……but Tina.
”She’ll be cool with it,” she said aloud, her words sounding more convincing than her spirit felt.
“T?….T?…..Are you okay?”
Blonde locks nodded in response. “Yeah. I’m okay. I’m just a little surprised is all. I didn’t think you were going to run for anything.”
“Well, I wasn’t. But I ran into Emily today and – – -,” Bette began.
Tina rolled her eyes. “Oh, here we go with Emily. Every time Emily is involved things seem to get out of control. The last time she was involved, you had a full spread in the Bruin….And she thought it was a good idea. What is she, your pimp?”

I’m with the majority on this one, I know there is trouble brewing but please let it be just a little wrinkle in life keep them together. PPS

Welcome back. I am bummed that Bette and Tina will be seperated for a time period. Hopefully they can survive this summer of apartness.

This definitely felt like a set up for rising drama. Should be good! Nice that Bette and Kit are building a relationship. Don’t understand why Dana has trouble get a gf, she’s sweet and attractive. She needs to work on her confidence and kick both Lara and Alice to the curb.
I’m loving this, but I can’t help but feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop!! PPS

Hey MTS, WOnderful writing as always, I just loved the interplay between all the characters. Bette telling Tina her plans was tough but they are so there for each other that most matters can be dealt with. I can totally understand Tina reluctance in Bette’s new politcal agenda. Ultimately it will affect her. I hope that it is to help her come out of the closet and into the light. As for Dane, a wee shame. Lara was right to tell Dana that her feelings were returned and about her committment to Jodi. Time can heal most wounds so I hope that their friendship leads to a more romantic entanglement. MTS, it like you were never away. Thank you so much for this fabulous fan fiction. Your Loyal Fan.
