    B&T Beginning Set on College Campus. Damon had been right. Bette was jumping out of the closet. Her secret was already out. Melvin had disowned her and her mother still loved her. Bette had nothing to lose……but Tina.

     

    There was a possessive protectiveness in Bette’s tone and it brought a smile to Tina’s face. Surrounded by that loving tone and the gentle embrace of her lover’s arms, Tina found herself believing that Bette’s new goals would not impact her life and that together, they would be just fine. The young blonde cast her worries and fears aside as she smelled in the sweetness of her girlfriend’s soft skin and held on tight to the dreams in the woman before her. 

    Dana was lying flat on her back on the top bunk of her triplet. Somewhere between the walk home and the comfort of her bunk, she’d lost the urge to pack and put things in order. Away from the strength and clarity of Bette, dark worries began to slowly re-emerge. Her cell phone vibrated against her hip and she knew who it was. She felt it in her bones.

    The tennis player closed her eyes and took a deep breath before glancing at the caller id and answering.

    “Hello,” she said softly.

    The soft voice on the other end sounded sweetly apologetic. “Hey Dana. It’s me. Are you busy?”

    “Nope.”

    Lara sighed. This wasn’t going to be easy. Not with these one-word responses. “Okay. Can we talk?”

    “What do we have to talk about? I wanted to talk today. You didn’t want to listen. Now you want to talk and I don’t give a damn.”

    “Dana, don’t. Please don’t. I’m sorry about earlier.”

    Dana wanted to stay angry but she was falling for Lara. They were still friends at the end of the day and she missed her friend. “Why are you sorry? Are you just sorry because I’m upset? Or are you really sorry?” she asked.

    “I’m really sorry Dane. Really, I am. I was wrong, okay? I was wrong.”

    Dana donned her investigative technique again. “Wrong for what? For what happened last night? Or wrong for – — ,” she began.

    Lara’s rushed words slid out and interrupted Dana. “I was wrong to act the way I did. I’m sorry about that. I enjoyed kissing you, Dana. I enjoyed making love to you.”

    Redness rushed to Dana’s tanned cheeks. “I enjoyed it, too,” she said quickly.

    6. Please let this be a little bump in life for B&T… realistically I do realize life is never a smooth sail. ;) Great post… and am so glad to see you back… have never give up on your story and yey you come back to us :D

    7. This definitely felt like a set up for rising drama. Should be good! Nice that Bette and Kit are building a relationship. Don’t understand why Dana has trouble get a gf, she’s sweet and attractive. She needs to work on her confidence and kick both Lara and Alice to the curb.

    12. Hey MTS, WOnderful writing as always, I just loved the interplay between all the characters. Bette telling Tina her plans was tough but they are so there for each other that most matters can be dealt with. I can totally understand Tina reluctance in Bette’s new politcal agenda. Ultimately it will affect her. I hope that it is to help her come out of the closet and into the light. As for Dane, a wee shame. Lara was right to tell Dana that her feelings were returned and about her committment to Jodi. Time can heal most wounds so I hope that their friendship leads to a more romantic entanglement. MTS, it like you were never away. Thank you so much for this fabulous fan fiction. Your Loyal Fan.
