The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 29

Bette swallowed. “Is it a good change?”

“Very good. She must be a hell of a woman.”

    “She is.”

When the car arrived, Bette walked Carmen out and closed the car door for her. She stood watching until the car disappeared. And having dismissed Harold for the night, she called herself an uber and headed home. At home, she finally took off her beautiful black and white gown and stored it in her closet before climbing into a hot shower. She ate a quick breakfast of toaster waffles and turkey bacon and sent Tina a few more messages. She thanked her again and told her she loved her. And then she walked into her room and fell asleep on the top of her comforter.

Tina smiled, reading her lover’s text messages. Seeing Bette’s name made her stomach flutter and she found herself staring at one of the photos Caleb had sent her. This woman was beautiful and Tina was overwhelmed with how much she cared for the newest woman in her life. Gone was the anxiety she had felt about ending things with Henry. More than anything, she felt excited to close that chapter of her life. And then when Bette was ready, they would share their worlds together.

She’d visited her own well-paid attorney and gotten him to draw up a standard divorce agreement. She’d hoped they could end things somewhat amicably and that this entire thing could be processed quickly. Afterall, she’d even had the foresight to sign a pre-nuptial agreement. Her father had seen to that. Never had the man been wiser.

Tina and Henry had dinner plans for the evening. The blonde had planned the evening so that they were in the middle of the dining room to minimize his reaction. She was going to serve him the papers along with his entree.

She was on set, sitting in a director’s chair, when her assistant messaged her that her father was there to see her. Tina looked at her cell phone, surprise showing on her face. She motioned to the rest of the team that she would return. When she arrived in her office, she found her father walking around, looking at her awards, books, and mementos. It was late afternoon and she could tell he had come from work. He was wearing a tailored suit and carried the air of professionalism that seemed to cover him when he dressed formally.

    1. Wow! I’m speechless. I hereby bestow the title of this week’s drama queen upon you.

What an a**hole. Poor Tina, this is too much pressure. She has to talk to someone. But who? Of course Bette but will she be strong enough to ease Tina’s fears? An attorney. Someone who definitely has no ties with her father’s clan. Would be time for Joyce, maybe there is a hole in the pre-nup.

      I’m…. running out of words.

    2. And i think it’s Bette who has a biggest problem.

How can you choose outsider over her own daughter – i don’t understand. Prick. I’m hoping that this Tina’s dad business in future will be ruined.

    3. I think I would see a good lawyer….Good ole Henry maybe out getting himself some on the side especially if Tina has not been putting out for him. So what happens if Henry cheats? And can Tina just lie about cheating until the divorce is done. This pause maybe a good thing. She has been buying all those gifts for Bette – lunches, dress, shoes glamour bridge? All on her credit card. All of that can be traced to Tina’s relationship with Bette. She’s not going to be able to take care of Bette now.

      What mess…what mess.

      Great story….looks like mom and dad know Tina’s secret. That’s a surprise……

    4. Wow that was a twist I knew something was going to happen to put a kink in things.. but damn her dad only loves himself and his image. I would be broke but I would have love so yeah wouldn’t be a hard decision for me. Long as Bette didnt get hurt. Thank you great chapter..

    5. Is Tina working for her father ? I know loosing a family is really hard but it’s her life after all ! Can we

really compromise our lives for our family’s reputation ? My god those conservatives are so

      loathsome and so hypocrites !
