The Roommates – Pride & Prejudice: Chapter 6

“I love you, Bette. No worries about anything, okay?”
Bette nodded. “No worries. I love you too, Mom.”
Janice planted a motherly kiss on Bette’s forehead before the younger woman raced off to catch her bus to the museum.
A bout of chaos then ensued between the actors, the director, and Jeff and it was agreed upon by all parties that they needed a break. The group split in three different directions and Jeff headed over to Tina.
“Hey Kiddo, how you doing?” he asked her.
Tina smiled. “I’m great. No complaints.”
“Excellent. Listen, I need a favor.”
“What do you need?” asked Tina.
“I’m having a crazy craving for a chocolate crème filled chocolate cupcake. I’m not supposed to eat the shit but today, I don’t care. I need a hit of chocolate and I need it bad.”
“How can I help?” asked Tina.
“There’s a bakery on Melrose. Best damn cupcakes I’ve ever tasted and I’ve been thinking about them since I walked on set today. Can you go and grab a half dozen of those guys for me?”
“No problem. What’s the name of the place?”
“Cake Decor. I’ll give you directions on exactly how to get there.”
Jeff reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys. “Take my car. It’s in the lot.”
Tina nodded and stood with her boss a little while longer while he gave her directions. It wasn’t long before she was seated behind the wheel of his $60,000 black convertible. She looked around was surprised to find the vehicle uncharacteristically neat and tidy. It looked brand new.
“I love my job,” she said to herself as she pulled out of the lot and followed Jeff’s directions.
The heat and humidity in Los Angeles were both headed riding an uphill curve and Tina let the top down to let in some air. And when she arrived at Cake Décor in Jeff’s $60,000 car, with her blonde hair blowing in the wind, and a pair of black sunglasses on her face, she was hard to miss.
She closed the top, grabbed her purse, and headed into the bakery.
Her entrance heralded the attention of two guys seated in the bakery’s café section and as she stood in line to order Jeff’s six chocolate crème filled chocolate cupcakes, Tina felt eyes studying her.

I’m glad you’re back! And I’m glad you are well. Now, on to the story. I can understand Tina’s reaction to Mark. She may be attracted to him if she is already worried how she would react should they see each other again. I just hope she don’t act on it. Hold in there Tina, Bette is coming home. This is not boding well for Bette and Tina. Usually with these type of situations the romance ends in due time. I sure hope that is not the case for Bette and Tina.

I just read this whole story right from the beginning of roommates through to here in the past couple of days, and i have to say, it’s awesome! i love the way you capture the emotions of two young women so perfectly, and it’s interesting to see how they’re dealing with the hard seperation. i can’t wait for ou to continue!
That was great and hope Bette will flight back to LA to visit Tina!

I’m really glad you’re back. I have so missed this story. But please no drana coming between Bette and Tina. It’s enough drama in the real world and life.
This is another one of my favorite stories. After all that Bette and Tina has been through to be together it seems like forces out of there control is putting a wedge between them. I can’t wait till they reconnect and remember the love they have can outlast the distance between them. looking forward to the next chapter coming soon hopefully :)
I waited patiently and was rewarded with another chapter. I love this story and look forward to many more chapters a bit more frequently.

Wow, I’m so glad you resurrected this story, MTS. Imo, this is one of the best long-running B&T fics in this site. And your post fell on my birthday. So thank you for adding a cherry to my already decadent cake. :> But you know what, I second Eddy’s drama fatigue. Yeah, life is hard enough that when I get the chance to pop in here, I can’t help but favor lighthearted, sugar-coated B&T stuff with a semblance of substance. I’m really worried about Tina’s reaction to the attention from men that she’s getting. OMG, please, please, no retreading of S3 storylines. Not to mention Bette’s cloud of doubt, her deep conversation with Sidney and her failure to communicate with Tina. Shit, they are growing as individuals but growing apart. If I’m not mistaken, this is usually the recipe for relationship disaster. And that’s really sad. *sigh* I’m going to read the bunch of sweet chapters you’ve written in the past to drive away the worries in my head.
