    The Spies: Choosing

"She’s still an orphan and I have to take her," the man said in a frustrating tone, "Lenore Piezeki died at the scene."

"And what are you gonna do with her? Put her in Juvi? She’s only 11," Tasha dad said. "Put her in foster care? Then she will grow up to be a criminal when she could still be saved."

"So what are you going to do Captain? Adopt her?"

"No, I can’t do that," Tasha’s dad said, "but she will stay here until you find a better fucking option."

    "Yes sir," the man said.

And Alice stayed with the Williams for three whole weeks. She shared the bed with Tasha and her and her savior had become close friends.

Then one day a mysterious man came to the house and requested to talk to all of them. Tasha, Alice and Tasha’s dad sat on the couch across from the man who looked serious.

"My name is Principal Kevin Rogers and I’m from the Academy for Gifted Children," he said.

Tasha’s dad looked shocked, "I heard of that school."

"Yes," Principal Rogers said with a small smile, "I heard about your situation. Let me just say Alice that I’m very sad about your mother."

Alice’s expression saddened and she said, "thank you."

"I heard what you said to the social worker and I think I’ve found the solution," Principal Rogers said.

Tasha grabbed Alice’s hand comfortingly as Tasha’s dad leaned forward with interest.

"I want to give Alice a full ride scholarship to the academy," Principal Rogers said, "there we would teach her to use those skills for good, give her a good home, food and clothes, and a good education."

Tasha’s dad glanced at Alice and Tasha and said, "I think this would be the best option."

"I don’t wanna leave you guys!" Alice cried clinging on to Tasha.

"Tasha," Tasha’s dad said with a small nod.

Tasha sighed and said, "can you give us a moment alone?"

"Sure," Principal Rogers said, "I’ll be outside. We can leave right away if you decide to accept my offer."

"Come on, I’ll get you a drink," Tasha’s dad said guiding Principal Rogers out.

After the men left Tasha gently pushed Alice back so that their eyes met. "Alice," Tasha said, "this is a chance of a lifetime. You heard my dad he can’t adopt you. This is the best chance you have."

"But I’ll miss you Tasha!" Alice cried.

"I’ll miss you too my Alice," Tasha said wiping away Alice’s tears, "but I’ll be happy knowing that you made something of yourself."

"What if I never see you again?" Alice whimpered.

"God put you in my path once," Tasha said, "He can put you again."

Alice suddenly leaned forward and kissed Tasha right on the lips. Tasha was stunned.

"That was my first kiss," Alice said blushing.

"W-why did you waste it on me?" Tasha said in shock.

"My mother always said that the person you will remember always is the first person you kiss," Alice said smiling. "Now I’ll never forget you Tasha."

Tears sprung to Tasha’s eyes as she grabbed Alice’s face gently in her hands and said, "then remember me well."

She leaned forward and kissed Alice’s lips gently. Alice was surprised by how soft and gentle Tasha’s lips were and how she slowly coerced her lips open.

"Do what I do," Tasha whispered before slipping her tongue into Alice’s mouth and swirling it around slowly. Alice was stunned by the amount of emotions running through her body and she mimicked Tasha’s movements.

The broke apart breathlessly. "I’ll never forget you Tasha," Alice said softly.

    "Bye Alice."

It had been a teary goodbye and Alice let her mind remember that amazing kiss as she waited in Principal Rogers’ office for instructions on her schedule and where her room was.

Principal Rogers glanced at Lincoln who was eyeing Alice carefully through the one-way mirror. "Professional infiltrator at only 11?" Lincoln said in shock.

"I know she started out doing crimes but she’s just a child and I really think living with the other two girls will put her on the right side of the tracks," Principal Rogers said.

"You have more faith in this one then you did with the other two," Lincoln said.

"Well neither of them has faced the danger that this girl has," Principal Rogers said.

"Hmm," Lincoln said, "well she’s the youngest out of the three, so the moment she turns 16 they can start."

"So you’ll choose her as the third spy?" Principal Rogers asked hopefully.

Lincoln smiled and said, "she’s perfect."
