    The Start – Chapter 6

She pulled into the gallery and saw Tina’s car was already there. She parked up and as she got her things together, she took a deep breath to try and resume her normal level of composure.  As she walked to her office, she passed the board room and glanced in to find James standing with Tina by the model layout of the gallery. She admired the elegance in Tina’s casual attire. Her black, slightly loose top seemed to cling to her in just the right places. Bette’s eyes traced down Tina’s back and landed on her ass, flashes filled her mind of her kissing the creamy, pale skin, admiring its firmness. She shook her head and her eyes continued to wander down Tina’s legs. She realized she had slowly come to a halt although the sound of her heels on the marbled floor had ceased and drawn Tina and James’s attention in her direction.

‘Oh, Bette, perfect timing. Could you settle this for us? Do you think that the placing of this piece fits in with the flow of the rest of them or do you think we should re-locate it somewhere else?’ James pointed at a section of the model and then started to walk over to her. What he hadn’t realized was that Bette was paying no attention to him or what he was saying.

As soon as Bette’s eyes met Tina’s all her nerves, her fears about their meet faded away. Tina’s hazel eyes reflected sincerity and warmth towards Bette and the smile that spread across her face touched her eyes and made them sparkle. Bette couldn’t breathe. She remained frozen to the floor, captivated in time where nothing existed but the two of them. She beamed back as she felt her heart dance in her chest.

‘Bette? Bette what do you think? We need a decision on this.’ Bette finally broke eye contact as James touched her elbow. She met his questioning gaze.

‘I…uh.. Ahem…What do you think?’ James was taken aback. She never asked his opinion before she had already made a decision. He looked at the Brunette, confused.

‘Well, you never, um. I think it should be moved but Tina thinks its right where it is.’ He looked down at the papers in his hand and then met her eye contact.
