It was a Thursday evening and Bette was staring at the bottle of Scotch that she had placed on the living room table. Her and Tina had had an arrangement ever since they graduated from university, that if they hadn’t got together during the week so far they would make sure to get together for dinner on a Thursday, even if it was only for an hour or two. This week, however, they had neither seen each other, nor had they arranged to go to dinner.
Bette knew that a part of her was being stupid, that she’d seen the blonde the previous weekend, and would be seeing her the next weekend, but this represented so much more than that. For the brunette, it was a sign of things to come. No matter how many times her best friend had promised her that nothing would change between them, things were changing already, and the wedding hadn’t even happened yet.
Sighing deeply, she unscrewed the cap from the bottle and poured herself a large glass of the amber liquid. She sat back in the chair and took a large sip, enjoying the way the liquid burned on it’s way down her throat.
This was the way it was going to be from now on. After all those years, the seemingly unbreakable bond between the two women was being tested by a man that the brunette hd come to hate over time. Not just because she saw him as taking away the love of her life, but because she hated the way he treated Tina. Watching the one you love being with someone who takes them for granted was one of the most painful things she had ever experienced, particularly when she knew just how well she would treat the blonde if she were just given the chance.
She put the now-empty glass back on the table and refilled it immediately. Shane’s words rang through her head, yet still she knew that she couldn’t face telling Tina how she truly felt. She could just about handle things changing between them, just so long as she kept her best friend in her life. The thought of losing her forever was something that the brunette couldn’t even begin to contemplate.

Oh my poor Bette. My heart is aching for her. I know this will end sweetly though…right? Anxiously awaiting the next post.
I promise I will try very hard to update tomorrow, but it could be Tuesday (my exam is at 3.45 pm). I’m so glad you update so frequently. Each time I see a new chapter I get all giddy and yay and it makes up for this sucky course I’m studying (interesting, but ranting way too long about one particular sub-subject). I look forward to the fortnight they’ll be spending together. I’d say this is Bette’s chance, but you will probably give us lots of almost-moments but eventually leave us hanging in there. I certainly look forward to your next post, the smile and butterfies that come with it! (It’s wicked, actually being in love with a story almost).
You’re absolutely right, that’s what Sundays are for. And Mondays too. And every other day of the week as well, so don’t hesitate posting 3 times a day every day^^ Thank you for this great chapter PPS oh and yeah, you’d better give her this fucking happy ending, cause this is the only way I can get it myself. Yes, I live through fanfix and especially through yours ;)

A very touching moment between friends (even if Bette had to be drunk to speak up). Tina has a lot to think about…And I wonder what will happen at the bachelorette party…Once again, you have delivered an excellent update – Kudos to you!!!

feeling sad for some reason…not that i don’t think tina won’t listen to bette because she already knows something is wrong with henry and she is just settling but she might still marry him because i’m pretty sure she rememvers that night when bette told her she’s in love with her but i think tina thinks that bette didn’t mean it or forgot about it and that’s why she’s marrying henry…ok, i confused myself with this LOL so i just say: love this story, can’t wait to read more :)

You put three chapters in one day for…tease!!!But I am impressed with the words Bette said to Tina. And somehow, I would rather Tina end the wedding with Henry because she think it through (maybe a little push by Bette’s words), but not because Bette’s confession.
