“You brought me here for a romantic dinner to talk about my ex-boyfriend?” Tina asked, clearly getting angry…….

“I……well I thought that it would be a great accomplishment for you……I thought you would be delighted about it…..you never have to worry about him again……he will not be able to get to you……..”

“It is no great accomplishment for me…..it is a great accomplishment for you……..”

At this point, my dreams for the night were shattered…..Tina stood up and walked out of the place…….I was in deep despair…….should I run after her? Or leave her alone? Lately, the angry part of her was rearing it’s ugly head, and I was the total brunt of it…….it was getting harder and harder to deal with, but because I love her, I have stayed by her………The doctor had previously discussed the repercussions of the trauma she went through……….yet still, I have been there……..I decided to let her go….when she is angry, there is no talking to her…..I can just call her later…….

I packed the flowers up, and paid for everything, then left………I went home……Home, To be alone……..

An hour later, I couldn’t handle it anymore…..I had to call her……if nothing else, just to make sure that she made it home……I dialed the number and instantly it went to the message machine…….. Obviously she had turned her phone off……I left a brief message……

‘T, this is Bette. I am sorry about tonight….I guess I had things all wrong…..I shouldn’t have done the whole romantic dinner, just to tell you about Eric. Obviously, I led you to the wrong idea…..well, I mean, not the wrong idea….I want to marry you one day, but we have a lot to work on before that can happen. I want you to know that I love you with all my heart, and please, atleast call me back to let me know that you are at home, and ok….’

I decided that maybe a hot bath was in order…..I needed to relax……just for a while……but as soon as I sat down in the bubbled bath, my mind instantly went back to ‘our night’ that started out in this tub….just over a week ago….what an amazing night……..I must have slipped deep into thought because I never heard the phone ringing…….knowing damn well that I was waiting for a call from her, I had left the phone on the side table in the den…..once I was out of the bath, I decided to turn in early……I grabbed the phone to put it on the charger and that is when I saw it…… the message…….. 1 missed call, 1 new voicemail…….

I flipped the phone open, and went to the voicemail……..

‘Bette, this is Tina…..I am at home, and yes I am fine……I have work early in the morning…..so please, don’t call…..we have to make our decision. I will call you when I am done.’

‘Dammit..’ I flipped the phone shut. ‘dammit, dammit, dammit……’. Tina didn’t say I love you or kiss my ass, or nothing……she just said……don’t call………I will call you……she always says I love you before she hangs up the phone……. ‘way to go Porter, finally find the right one, and bam….you do something stupid’………well, I guess I will wait for her call……..
