The Past

It had been a week since Tina had seen Bette and they had spoken to each other on the phone every second day. There conversations were brief but they both thought at least they were talking. They had made arrangements to meet up at The Planet every other day for lunch and coffee. Things were really going well Tina thought, she was happy every time she heard Bette’s voice. They were having these deep conversations about their feelings and was really starting to trust Bette again. But Bette still had her secret booty call which of late she was starting to feel guilty about (but not enough to stop it).
It was Thursday morning and Tina had just got off the phone to Bette when Andrew a work coleague came all excited.
Andrew: ” Hey Tina did you hear”
Tina: “What! Hear what”?
Andrew: We’ve picked up a huge project down in New Zealand and they want one of us to head it. There’s a huge raise to $500,000 and they got a cottage over looking the harbour to live in, a car, all expences paid. So basically all you have to pay for is well nothing.”
He was jumping around the room like a school girl.
Tina: Wow she thought New Zealand my sister lives there it’s been so long since I saw her.”Calm down Andrew.”
So who’s going and how long is it for.”
Andrew:”Well it’s for a year longer if you choose and it’s out of Greg, Sarah, Jess, Mike, Myself and you. But I don’t think Jess and Greg want to do it and I don’t think Mike has the experiecne to do it. So it’s probably just Sarah, me and you.”
Me she thought but I couldn’t possibly go, not for that long anyway and not just now when things were going good with Bette. I’ll just have to tell them I can’t but it would be a great experience, oh I don’t know I’ll
just have to go speak to Bette about it first, tonight I’ll stop off at the CAC.

Later that night at the CAC

Bette was sitting at her desk with a load of paperwork as usual when there was a knock at the door.
Bette: “Come in”
The door opened and Bette looked up, she smiled when she saw who it was.
Bette: “I’m glad you stopped by I need to release some of this stress”
She walked over to the door and locked it behind her. She turned to Candace and started to undo her pants.
While this was happening Tina had just pulled up in the car park and was making her way to Bette’s office.
As she came closer she could hear the banging on the door and the cries coming from inside. She laughed to herself and said “well you’ve answered that ***** question for me Bette I hope your happy with her”. She got back in her car and headed back to Alice’s place. I can’t tell anyone about this but now my minds made up I’m going to New Zealand.

Alice’s apartment

Tina: “Hey Al you home”
Alice:”Yeah in here, hey what’s so funny”
Tina: “Oh nothing it’s a long story”
Alice:”Come on dish, don’t leave me hanging”
She thought back to earlier in the day
Tina: “Well today at work this woman I work with..no I can’t”
Alice: angrily “T tell me”
Tina:laughing “Well she had just come out of the bathroom and all the guys were looking at her and giggling some were even following her. So being the curious type I am I had to have a look to see what all the fuss was
about.”
Alice:”And”
Tina: ” As she got closer I couldn’t see anything strange but then she turned and I could see it” she started bursting out laughing.
Alice was on the edge of her seat “What what what the ***** was it tell me”
Tina was hysterical tears running down her face. “her..her skirt…it was tucked into her stockings and she had toilet paper on her shoes”
Alice sat there “***** is that all”
Tina still laughing “No she had…she had no panties on and you could see her bare ***** and that’s not all she had…she had a little you know pebble sitting at the bottom of her butt crack”
Alice realised what she was talking about and began laughing as much as Tina “No ***** really”
They were both hysterical falling over each other for the next 10 minutes.
Alice:”Oh my god that has to be the most embarassing thing I’ve ever heard. What a CRACK up”
This sent them back hytericaly laughing again.
Tina: “Oh man this is killing me, I better go have my shower. Hey Al I’ll meet you at The Planet for lunch tomorrow K”
Alice still giggling to herself “sure thing T”

Next day

Tina went to see her boss to talk about the position in New Zealand.
Tina: “Hi John I was just wondering about that job in New Zealand. I’m really interested in it, have you chosen yet.”
John: “Are you really because you know Tina you are my first option, I just didn’t think you were interested”
Tina:”So you’ve already chosen then” looking disappointed
John: “No but you just made my decision for me”
Tina: “You mean it” she had a huge smile on her face
John:”Of coarse I mean it. So you’ll need to be down there in at least a month ok.”
Tina:”Sure no problems, I could leave tomorrow if you want me to”
John:”Well if your that keen you can, I’ll get Pete to set everything up for you. You can check things out and have a month long paid vacation around the country. How does that sound”
Tina was in shock “wonderful I’ll have to go and pack then”

She arrived at the Planet 20 minutes later all excited. “Now Tina she said to herself you’re not going to tell them about this, they’ll try to talk you out of going, yes ok I call them when I get there.”. Everyone was there even Bette. She walked in compossed herself and went to the table to join her friends.

Tina: Hello
They all say hi
Bette: “You look happy with yourself care to share”
Tina:”No no it’s just something that happened yesterday” she catches Alice’s eye and motions her head over to a woman standing at the counter and mouths “that’s her” they both burst out laughing falling over each other while the rest of them stare at them thinking they’re crazy.
Shane: “Ok guys what is it”
Both of them couldn’t stop laughing long enough to tell and every time they did they’d just start again.
After they had composed themselves they sat back at the table.
Still look at them like they were nuts.
They just turned to there friends and said “What”

They had all finished lunch and were about to leave Tina: Knowing that this would be her last night in LA “hey do you all want to get together tonight for dinner then maybe Milk”
Yeah great they all replied
Tina: “How about I cook so Alice’s at 7
They all nodded “Bye”

She wanted to make this a special night since it was going to be a long time before they could all be together like this.
