TLW10 – What condition is that?
Bette found her sister Kit in the back office. She fully expected that everyone already knew about Tina’s pregnancy but surprisingly Alice had respected Tina’s wishes and kept her mouth shut for a change. Bette broke the news to Kit who was thrilled beyond words that she was going to be an auntie. When Bette expressed doubt that Tina would allow her to have a place in the baby’s life Kit just scoffed. She knew these two would eventually find their way back to each other. She didn’t expect it to be an easy road but she knew they belonged together. Always have and always will.
Bette told Kit about Helena and Franklin’s scheme to get her fired from the CAC and Peggy’s intervention. She also told Kit about her new job offer and assured her that whatever Tina’s decision she would take care of her and the baby financially. If Tina wanted to find a place of her own she would pay the living expenses, take care of the medical bills and provide a stipend that Tina could live on. She didn’t want Tina fretting about money.

As soon as she had a chance Alice cornered Tina as she was dying to know what happened.
Alice: Okay. What’s happening? I mean, um… Are you guys not together? Because you… you look… like you are.
Tina: I’m staying at the house until I get a place of my own.
Alice: Okay, so she was cool with the … she didn’t freak? What – what?
Tina: She took it surprisingly well but we still need to talk. We have a lot to work out.
Alice: I know but …
Tina: No but’s Al. This is between Bette and me. I don’t want you interfering. It’s bad enough that you knew I was pregnant before she did again but thanks for not blabbing about it to all our friends this time.
Alice feigns hurt but she knows Tina is right. This time she needs to stay out of their business. She still felt guilty for even suggesting Tina see a lawyer when they’d broken up. When Bette found out it was her idea she tore Alice a new asshole but in the end Bette realized that Alice was just trying to be a good friend to Tina. It was unfair that she was made to choose sides. Hopefully this truce between the estranged couple would help them all get back to a place where everyone got along.
