Tina was at the counter carefully cracking eggs and removing the yolks, when she heard her door open and the jingle of the familiar keys sliding into a pocket. Bette had placed her briefcase down onto the sofa and she was so thankful that Tina was already up and active.
“Hey baby.” Tina said still with her back to Bette she was cracking her last egg and carefully removing the yolk, she was about to raise the half shell to drop the yolk into a bowl when Bette’s rushed approach caused her to drop it back into the separated egg whites. Her forced motion caused the yolk to catch the edge of the shell and bust open within the separated mix of egg whites. Before she could comprehend what had happened Bette’s lips latched onto Tina’s neck, she bit down hard on the tender spot that always made Tina’s mouth drop and her hands clench. This time was no different, Tina was caught off guard, and she squeezed her hands tight forcing the shell to crumble in her fist but her other arm held steady once she was pushed harder into the counter. She let go of everything and braced the heels her palms on the edge of the countertop.
“Is the baby still next door?” Bette whispered against Tina’s earlobe, her hands gripped Tina’s hips tight, her intentions were clear.
“Yeah, but…,” Tina’s jaw dropped, and she closed her eyes as she exhaled a deep breath. “Alice is, oh my God baby,” Tina’s knees knocked against the cabinet door and she fell back into Bette’s frame, her hand gripped Bette’s hair tight once she felt a quick swoop of Bette’s middle finger. “Al’s on her way to pick us up.” Tina panted out. She had to find that small rational part of her to warn Bette that their time was limited.
“Then stop trying to fight me and let me take you to the bedroom.” Bette felt Tina’s response but her words were contradicting that.
“Al is going to be… any minute we, we can’t, ohhh we can’t do this.” Tina tried to put actions to her words but the slow winding grind on Bette’s hand told her otherwise. Bette could easily take Tina to the bedroom, she was a real light weight, but there was something exhilarating about taking her right there. Bette ran a hand up Tina’s neck turning her face to look into her eyes, she wanted Bette just as much. One overwhelming kiss and her resolve was gone, Tina allowed Bette to take control of her body. A full turn still in her arms forced Bette to remove her hand. A solitary forceful push back and Tina was pushed against the refrigerator door, she moaned into the instant cold contact and Bette lifted her onto her hips, knocking down Angie’s paintings and the magnets that held them.
“We’ve gotta be quick.” Tina jumped down and practically snatched Bette out of the kitchen running.
