To the Moon and Back – chapter 6

Then you could go out to eat and take it from there I guess.

The pessimistic Bette kicked in. But what if she doesnt want to eat with me?

You flew all the way from LA to Paris to see her. Im sure she wont refuse a meal with you, said Shane

Yeah plus its not like you dont know where shes staying, added Alice.

Alright ladies, I guess the plan is set. Now Alice, you have to let me know when Helena leaves. Can you do that?

    Thats what Im here for.

Ok good. Now lets get back to the hotel so I can get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a big day.

The four women walked back to the hotel sharing laughs and taking in the beautiful sights of Paris. When they arrived back at the hotel, they took the stairs rather than the elevator just to be safe. Once they got to their floor, Shane stuck her head out into the hall and saw that the coast was clear. She lightly tiptoed to open the door to her room, and once it was open Bette rushed in. Dana and Alice did the same thing.

The next morning Bette awoke to sunshine peaking though the curtains into her eyes. She considered it a good sign, seeing how she was accustomed to having a black rain cloud all around her. She got out of bed and got an early start on her day while her friends were still trying to sleep off the jet lag.

The phone in Tinas room rang. Bonjour! Is this a Ms. Tina Kennard? said the English speaking receptionist.

    Yes

There is a guest here who would like to see you. They are waiting in the lobby.

Ok. Ill be right down. Tina wondered who it could possibly be. She put on her shoes, grabbed her pocketbook and took the elevator downstairs. She walked into the lobby and saw the all too familiar curly chocolate covered hair gracing the strong shoulders of the woman she loved. She walked over to her and said, Bette?

The woman turned around and shockingly it was Helena. Tina forgot that Helenas hair was curly when she left. Bette? Did you think I was her? asked a slightly hurt Helena.

    TBC…
