Yes; very much so Bette. Today was an important day and while I understand youre going through changes, youre a business woman and youre always supposed to be on top of your game, Rayne fumed, averting eye contact. I dont believe you, she shook her head angrily.

Bette was embarrassed and hurt by Raynes apparent lack of empathy. Just the other night they were the picture of a perfect sexual union and now she seemed like granite.

What is with you Rayne? I dont get it, Bette snapped. One day, youre hot and now youre cold. Was sleeping with me a mistake? Once the words left her lips, Bette wished she hadnt said it. In fact, she really didnt want the answer to her question.

Rayne leaned against the wall and squinted to her eyes as she looked at Bette. Before her stood the woman shed known, respected, and was even intrigued by, feeling and acting lovesick. None of it made sense to her.

Listen Bette, Im sorry if Im coming off heartless and thats not my intention, but you have to understand we have a lot riding on this. You wanted this as much as I did and Ive gone to great lengths to make it happen, but you cant mix business with pleasure Bette, you just cant; its not good business.
