Shane looked at the time and it was almost 1:30am. We better get out of here.

Alice turned the lights off leaving Tina alone in the dark to get her rest, though rest didnt come easy. Each time Tina drifted off, she had a recurring dream about her lost baby each one more vivid and intense than the other. Tina managed to doze off again, but this time woke up in a panic and a cold sweat.

Rayne lay awake on the bed watching Bette sleep wondering how a woman who was obviously still very much in emotional turmoil, could brush it all off so easily and move on as if nothing happened. Rayne was no fool; she knew that she was currently the rebound girl; the Ms. Right Now; and the crutch that Bette needed to fill the voids in her life, and that was fine with her. There was more to them than just great ***** and Rayne knew the potential for a good relationship was there, but she doubted Bette really knew that. Bette was too busy sinking herself into everything but her root problem. Bette stirred, but didnt wake, allowing Rayne to continue her mental monologue. Rayne thought about Bettes relationship with Tina and tried to imagine how Bette was with her. Shed heard Bette speak with her on the phone in the past and even then wondered how the two related with each other. Rayne got the impression that Bette was Tinas world and there was nothing she wouldnt do for her, but somehow it wasnt reciprocated. Even when they were all in New York, Rayne could see how easily Bette dismissed Tina and it bothered her, but it wasnt her place to comment outside of how she handled it. Rayne felt a little annoyed with herself for not properly addressing Bette, but that would be conversation for another time. All Rayne knew is that she would not allow things between she and Bette to escalate until a serious heart-to-heart was had. It wasnt in Raynes nature to play games, manipulate, or make light of things; and she wasnt about to start now. Bette Porter was a complicated woman, but that was out of her choosing more so than design and Rayne wanted to get past the faade and see the real Bette Porter.
