“My mother hasn’t noticed for sure” Helena quickly said which got a frown from Tina.
“Not helping dear” Alice said between her teeth. “Anyway I… we need an update, did something happen for you to… you know be like this, and more important to look like this?” Alice continued.
“Oh god” Tina said growing in aggravation.
“TK, it’s ok if you’re attracted to her… it happens and, you know what, it doesn’t necessarily have to mean anything” But Helena’s speech was cut short by Tina.
“And what if it means something more than just an attraction? How am I supposed to know that?”
“Look TK being gay it like being straight… you don’t choose who you’re attracted to or who are you going to fall for, it just happens and there’s no way of knowing that unless you explore it” Alice said this time.
“Alice is right, there’s no right or wrong when it comes to feelings and there’s certainly nothing wrong about exploring new ones, you just have to do it at your own pace and when you’re ready” Helena added.
Tina released a big sigh, somehow her fiends’ words were finding a way through her soul, soothing her.
“I’m just unable to control myself when I’m around her… I mean you know me right? I’ve never been the flirting type but every time I’m with her I just… I cannot help it, I cannot control the need to be around her, to speak to her, to ask her questions, to wonder what… what it would feel like to kiss her” Tina said defeated.
“We know honey, we know” Alice said as she grabbed her friend’s hand across the desk.
“And why the hell are the blinds closed? It’s a beautiful sunny day outside” Tina asked trying to divert the conversation towards something that didn’t involve her.
“Agents Fairbanks and McCutcheon’s orders” Helena replied.
“Great, that’s just great”
“So what time is the funeral tomorrow?” Shane asked the taller brunette.
“Eleven thirty”
“And how are we gonna manage that? Have you thought of something?” Dana asked this time.
“I spoke to the chief of police and he told me that everything will be done according to protocol but that they are putting every single resource they have to work with us, so we have to come up with something to present to them before noon”
“Ok, let’s start working on that then” Shane said as she started printing out specific details about the location of the cemetery.
It was late in the afternoon and the three lawyers were still inside Tina’s office, as the three agents were working on the final details of the operation for the funeral over the phone.
“Did you get the techs?” Shane asked quickly as Dana hung up the last. The athletic brunette just nodded with a smug smile, proud of her convincing skills.
“Ok, are we ready to brief them?” Bette asked the rest of the team.
“I guess we are”
