More months go by and Grace is dating Bette; while Eric and Tina are dating. Eric and Tina return from New York. Bette and Tina have a chance to talk alone while riding back from the airport. Although they don’t get to talk about the past, they remain friendly.

After a disastrous welcome home dinner, where Eric leaves in a huff, Bette and Tina are alone again to talk about next steps. They acknowledge feelings for one another remains and agree that they’ll take their time, but ultimately they’ll come together again.

Characters

Bette: works in the art world. Moved to LA via Philadelphia. Going out with Grace, in love with Tina. Twin sister to Eric. Ex-girlfriends: Tina and Alice.

Alice: Works as a writer. Best friend to Bette and frienemy to Eric since childhood. Lives with Bette and Eric. Generally a fiercely loyal smart ass.

Tina: Works in the movie business. Moved to LA by way of New York. Going out with Eric, in love with Bette. Has a homophobic family (sister: Mickey and unnamed mother). When the story begins, identifies as straight.

Eric: Bette’s twin brother (often referred to as “little brother” because he was born after Bette). Works as a doctor. In love and going out with Tina. Does not trust Bette to be around Tina alone. Nice guy, but prone to flip out when Bette and Tina are seen to be too intimate.

Grace: Works as an actress. Tina’s best friend since childhood. Very dramatic. Currently going out with Bette. Not entirely trusting that Bette and Tina can be “just friends” but she trusts that her friend won’t betray her.

Supporting Characters

Michaela (Micky): Tina’s older sister. Intolerant. Snoops through private drawers, makes judgments. A horrible human being. Stands as a placeholder for all of Tina’s family.

Shane: Shane is Shane. Cool, reliable to her friends when they need her. Spoke to Tina the most after Tina left New York. Stays in the background but, generally knows what’s going on. Was emotionally shaken by Bette and Tina’s breakup

Kit: Bette and Eric’s older sister (duh). In and out of town, touring. Closer to Bette than Eric. Known for knocking sense into people when they need it.

Dana: Goofy, lovable. Forever and always will appear. But she has very little to say…at this point.
